Default Funnel/Shelf/Scud Debate, Round 99999

This image was taken today. Naturally, the photog claimed it as a funnel cloud. I'm leaning more toward a shelf.

I'd agree with you Tony. Of course still vs video isn't conclusive, but it doesn't look that organized to me anyway.

It looks too cylindrical to the right of the "funnel" as compared to the left. Almost as if you're looking diagonally at an approaching shelf cloud (moving from right to left in the picture)

My default assumption is to dismiss funnel/wall cloud/tornado claims from shakycams and still pics unless there's really compelling evidence to support it. In this case, I think you're dead on with the assessment that it's a shelf taken at a 45 or so degree angle relative to the movement, creating a perspective that makes the left end look like a lowering.

We just had a similar thing video-wise... a "gustnado" sent in, but the person was moving the camera back and forth constantly... It *might* have been one... but too inconclusive to say without at least 4-5 seconds of still images!
