Default Obama declares support for gay marriage

Somehow this has to be Bush's fault...

Maybe, but I doubt if those gay marriage guys are really concerned about Bush that much.

Romney "flip flops" on issues, while Obama's positions "evolve".

That must be more of that nuance that us sloping foreheaded people in flyover country don't get.

Kudos to Obama for his honesty and political courage. Prior to his announcement, he was trying to have it both ways. Now he has finally taken a position on the issue and declared what he really thinks (and has obviously thought all along but was too cowardly to admit it). It's not going to help his re-election prospects much, though.

I've always been an advocate of gay marriage. Why should only us straight people have to put up with the divorce attorneys, custody battles, spousal support and all the trimmings that go along with the probable failure of their union later on? Time for everyone to join in on the fun.

I think he summed it up nicely, but I will say I had a rather lengthy argument with my priest the day the Archbishop put a letter in every bulletine calling on Catholics to unite to make gay marriage illegal in Maryland. I told him I don't think it's the Catholic Church's damned business what two non-Catholics do.

Fact is, guys like Clever told us a Massachusetts liberal flip flopper shouldn't even be within a hundred miles of the White House. That was in 2004.

Now, they pick a flip flopper.

Isn't flip flopping on flip flops the ultimate flip flop?

Meanwhile...Mitt Romney is waiting for Scott Rasmussen to tell him what to believe...

Your point is well taken, Mr. Face.

Is it safe to say that you support the right of a church not to recognize a same-sex marriage in the same that it might not recognize certain heterosexual unions?

I ask because having talked with same-sex marriage advocates, I've found them (at least the ones I've talked to) divided on that aspect of it.

Yeah, no ... that's why he said "guys like Clever" ... it's a fun way to accuse someone of something without actually having to prove it to be true.

Kinda like when I say guys like bucky are the ones you usually see molesting collies or pleasuring themselves to photos of Teh Won taped to the ceiling above their bed.

I don't think so because there really wasn't anything to gain by it.

First off, even the Dems knew that the same sex marriage propostition wouldn't pass in N. Carolina. They also knew that if Obama came out in favor of it that it would cost him in N. Carolina and Virginia both of which are in play this November.

In my opinion, there would be really nothing to gain politically by him expressing his view on same sex marriage if he was in favor of it.

Even if he wouldn't have said anything, I doubt that the folks who were pressuring him on this would change their vote to Romney.

I think he wanted to wait until after the election to speak up on this topic.

Biden forced his hand. I bet privately they were pissed at Biden in the White House.

Let me get this straight....

(picks himself up off floor)

The defense of Mitt Romney is, "Obama is bad, too"?

Color me completely and totally shocked.
