Default pick 'em March Madness contest - 2012 WX edition

The big Medialine March Madness pick 'em contest is back again. I think everyone knows how it works. If not, I will look for questions on this thread.

E-mails went out automatically to players from previous years, but everyone is welcome. Even your next door neighbor, Jim. The news and weather boards are unified in this competition.

You have to have a Yahoo e-mail account to play.

Good Luck,

It was more ceremonial than practical. Wasn't sure if the games had actually started yet.
I was delayed at a medical appointment and couldn't update sooner.

Good luck to all 27 people in the game.

GO BUFFS!

I got busy and didn't update the standings. Sorry

Everyone has a bracket that looks like it was pulled from a house fire.

President Obama is in first place and has a lot of potential. Kace is in second but may fade down the stretch. Wx or not, sportschick and AckAck round out the top five. There are several players in the near back of the pack that have the potential to make quick moves to the top.

I will have an update after the weekend.

The Elite Eight is done and this is how things shape up going into the Final Four.

STANDINGS

President Obama's bracket....picked 43 of 60 games....86 actual points....86 potential points
JAMA............................................40.... ...................85.....................133
Jane's Boyz...................................39......... ..............84.....................148
ADub727......................................41... ....................83.......................83
Missoula Montana Madness.............38.......................79... ....................95
Stein's Dribblers............................38........... ............77.....................125
Missing NIT Bracket (Kace).............40.......................73......... ..............73
Ralphie the buffalo........................36........................ 73.....................137
Asheville Blue and White.................35........................71 ....................135
Sportschick....................................38............ ..........68......................116

Summary
The President still leads, but he has nowhere to go now. Neither does ADub727 or Kace. Those players will drop off the leader board next time out.

Who has a chance to win it all.? I will sort this by who picked who for champion.

JAMA picked Ohio State to win it all. If they do so does he. Pretty straight forward there.

Nobody picked Louisville to win it all. If they do --- okay, ummmm, I won't try to figure out that scenario. Too complicated.

If Kansas wins out Jay's Jayhawks will shoot up from 12th place to grab the crown. He has 130 potential points right now if Kansas wins it all.

Jane picked Kentucky. So did Ralphie (me) and Asheville Blue and White. There are a lot of other players who have Kentucky to win, but they don't have the potential to place in the top three. If the Wildcats win out Jane will win this contest.

For a complete scorecard, players can go to Yahoo and log into the game.

Thanks for playing and good luck next weekend.

We are down to two teams now and here are people with a chance to win, place or show. These are the two potential futures:

Thirteen players in our contest picked the Wildcats to win
If Kentucky prevails

Jane's Boyz wins it all
Ralphie the buffalo gets second
Stein's Dribblers comes in third

Only one person selected the Jayhawks as champion (good job!)
If Kansas wins

Jake's Jayhawks will win the contest
(I think he is from the WX board, but am not sure)
Jane's Boyz will place second
Ralphie the buffalo takes third

I will post the top ten after the final game. That is more for the benefit of people who aren't in the game because the players can log on and check the full standings at the game site.
