Hi folks...my name is AJ Jain and I've been a meteorologist on TV, in the Aviation industry, and on an Energy Trade Floor.
I've started a new blog called Fresh AJ (www.freshaj.com) that gives students, graduates and career professionals juicy insights into the weather industry...particularly TV. There are no ads, and it's all free. Here are a few of my TV posts: http://www.freshaj.com/salaries-of-a...t%E2%80%A6ouch http://www.freshaj.com/top-10-steps-...t-a-tv-station http://www.freshaj.com/looks-do-matter-in-tv-weather Please feel free to comment, like, dislike, subscribe on the blog itself. If you do love what you see, please share this with folks too! I look forward to hearing your thoughts! Thanks! AJ |

Some great advice on this blog! I'm just sorry that I didn't think of it first.

Looks like the truth to me from what I learned while I was in tv for 7 years. If you would care to write some blogs on moving into the energy industry or aviation industry that would be helpful too!

Hi there, I'll definitely write about transitioning from TV into aviation or energy. It's exactly what I did...so I definitely have some tips into getting in.
I'll keep you updated, or you can always subscribe and you'll get a very clean email of my updates. Thanks! AJ |

Hey AJ,
Just read more of your blog. Great work. The unemployment rate article from yahoo is interesting to say the least...just check out American Wx forum if you want to see hoards of unemployed mets., here(medialine) isn't much better. Well I guess we're not unemployed but many are not employed in met related positions.

Thanks QVectorman. Yep have already seen the Americanwx blog and read some of the posts. The sad truth is there are just too many meteorologists out there and few meteorology openings. In private companies and TV...the competition is pretty bad.
Feel sorry for new grads...it's a really tough market out there! |
