Default Gores Go Their Own Ways

This is very surprising, since there has never been a hint of personal-type scandal or marital problems associated with Gore Jr. It's also sad for the family. I'm sure we'll hear more in the coming weeks and it will be in one of the supermarket tabloids by next week.

I'm not surprised. His ongoing hunt for ManBearPig has no doubt kept him away from home for months at a time.

That's absolutely awful after 40+ years of being together. It was nice seeing two people making it that long.

Guess it got too hot at the Tennessee homestead. What could have caused such warming?

It's funny how Dippy follows every bowel movement Algore makes. He's obsessed with the man.

Dip's in Tennessee. The article linked appeared in a TN newspaper. No doubt this is a topic of conversation throughout much of the state, especially since no one apparently saw it coming. What's the problem?

It's even funnier how he loves to call him Gore jr., even though no one would ever mistake Al Gore for his father and Gore himself has never used that as his public name, but deifies the Bush's by calling them Bush the Father and Bush the Son just so he can avoid the Bush jr. name. I've always wondered who Bush the Holy Spirit is in Diplomat's strange world. Cheney?

I was thinking the same thing. I saw the story and thought, "oh jeez. Now I get to go into medialine and watch Dip dry hump another Al Gore thread". Then I realized nobody had created a thread about his subject. I figured Dip was screwed out of an opportunity to write about someone he hates to the point of obsession, since he barely has the courage to create "RIP" threads.

Looks like Dip decided to just go ahead and get the ball rolling.

Now we get to read his crap hate posts about Al Gore. Again. And if anyone calls him on it, Dip will tell them how they are bigots who hate children.

Do you seek out a report on every bowel movement your state's retired politicians make? Most people don't. With Dippy, it goes beyond just reading the paper. He's obsessed with the man.

Al Gore is just a "retired politician"? The man has worked hard to infiltrate and influence our lives for the past several years with his AGW huckstering, but to you he's just Nixon in his dark socks and dress shoes, walking the beaches of San Clemente.

I mean, I know an article about the Gores separating isn't on par with updating everyone about your accounting school final exams, but it is news.

The guy who walked into a Tennessee church and murdered worshippers was, "news", too. Dip could empathize with someone who killed people because they were "liberal", so he didn't bother creating a thread.

If it's not an RIP thread, it's a thread about someone Dip hates. Kitty Kelly, Dan Rather, et al.

You probably don't get the notion that posters are sick of reading Dips post, Clever, because you are younger copy of him.

Too bad Letterman is in re-runs all this week (as is Leno). I can hear it now:

Ahh, Cliff will soon provide us with his inside expertise. Either that, or he'll make it up, as he usually does.

The people I have talked to so far are shocked. This is big news in Tennessee because the media here cover the Gores a lot. The Tennessean newspaper has something about them at least once a week. They appear at various political, charitable and social events in the community from time to time. I'm not sure how much time either of them actually spend at their Tennessee mansion or farm, though.

There's also something on the Atlantic Monthly's website about the separation.

It is a sad situation, no matter the how or why.

Sixty-seven (67) times more likely to create a thread about Republicans than he is about anything else in the world, and bucky feels the need to criticize Dip's choice of subject matter.

But yeah, bucky ... it's Dip that people are sick of reading. You're just too precious.

THAT is the most surprising thing of all! I never would have guessed it.

It just goes to show everyone that a marriage takes work. It's awfully easy to get involved in your own hobbies and interests while your wife gets involved in her own and then, as the Gores found out, you've "drifted apart". I think spouses do need outside interests and they don't need to do everything together. But when you've developed completely separate lives, it's certainly difficult to keep the marriage together.

It does make me wonder a little what the Clintons' marriage is really like. How much time do they spend together? Or do they have almost completely separate lives and see each other only occasionally? And if that's the case, why do they stay married?

Because image is everything in politics. The Gores have no involvement in it anymore, but the Clintons both relish the limelight. It's like a bug zapper light for them: they're attracted to the pretty lights and don't mind getting burned occasionally.
