Default Uga is dead. RIP

The college mascot world is pretty tight so this one hits me hard. Uga VII was just a pup.
He went before his time. I guess only the good die young, huh?

My thoughts and prayers go out to the Georgia faithful in this time of grief and rememberence.

Word is that Reville is flying in from Texas A&M to be a pawbearer.

The best UGA (not sure if it was that one) was the one that tried to bite the Auburn player.

As a Georgia alum, thanks Ralphie.

I think the UGA who went after the Auburn player was UGA V, if I remember right.

Definitely a sad day for me.

I would bet a million dollars, that our Barkie Dawg is right now making sure that UGA is welcomed into the great football stadium in the sky. He's probably got a Gator shaped chew toy to munch on.

We will miss UGA almost as much as we miss Barkie.

Goooooooo, dawg! Sic 'em! We'll miss you, and make sure you say hi to the ghost of Charlie Trippi and Barkie when you arrive. I'm sure they'll have a nice Gator tail for you to chomp on.

Fortunately, in this case, we Bulldawgs don't have to recruit. We reload.

I'm certain we'll have progeny of some sort available to swat a bee or two in the next two weeks.

From my perspective, you lead a very small life.

An insider friend tells me that there will be a private internment 11am at the stadium on Saturday.

No, I lead a large life, at least large enough to realize that boohooing over a mascot dog is stupid. If it were your own family pet, I would completely understand. But it was a freakin' mascot dog. It might as well have been some roadkill in the bad part of town for all it actually affects you.

Or do you cry over every dead animal you see?

If you have to say it, then you probably don't.

That's how you measure the size of your life? Wow.

Oh, and by the way, assw!pe, nobody was boohooing.

I doubt that seriously. You're the moral equivalent of a Vulcan.

Uh, you don't get to tell anyone how something affects them. And, FWIW, I went to Georgia, and like all people who support their teams, we love our mascots from afar. So go screw yourself if we choose to mark the good dog's death in some way.

Nah, just those animals and people that matter. Fortunately for you, you won't have to worry about anyone 'boohooing' at your funeral. You have the empathy of a lizard.

Sorry, just got back from a trip for ice cream. As I was pulling up out front, I noticed there's a squashed squirrel in the road. How sad. I hope you'll all keep that squirrel and her family in your thoughts and prayers.

I don't think there's anything wrong with people mourning Uga, especially if you're a Georgia fan/alum.

Why not? Otherwise, we'll have to treat all animals the same and either stop eating them or declare all of them okay to eat.
