Maybe it's the uniforms. Would you feel the same if she were a postal worker, or with Roto Rooter? (think carefully, your whole life depends on this answer...)

Say what you want... because we know you will.

If I am a news director and could pick anyone from TWC to lead my weather team, it would be Stephanie. Cantore has star power, yes. But I think she is the prototype on-air weather talent of the 21st Century.

She has a solid grip on the material (FSU), she exudes passion and excitement about the material, and yes... she has "the look" that I dare not put in print.

That is the business of television. Drive eyes to the program.

Unhappy So Sad

There have been so many threads lately about how we never talk about weather...but the thread with the most comments is insulting another Met. It's rude...It's sad...and if any one of you had a thread this mean about you, I doubt you would appreciate it. So why don't you print your name and resume and then we can start the critiques.

I guess what I'm missing is why it's ok to rail on Steph so much. Is it just because she's at the national level? Is that the point where you are open to malicious criticism? The jealousy is out of control guys... she's one of us, and it's not like she doesn't know her stuff. We all have different styles, and obviously the viewers like her.

I'll have to agree with the last few posts...I mean, I personally hate TWC probably more than anyone and some of the personalities in the past have annoyed the heck out of me...I don't know this particular chick and know nothing about her on-air presentation or knowledge (as I haven't watched TWC in years)....However, it has gotten a little harsh in this and other threads recently in reference to this person...Constructive criticism on how to improve an on-air performance is always good, but a few comments recently directed at this person is crossing the line between constructive criticism and insulting...I've actually made comments myself directed at well known forecasters that I realized after the fact was more insulting than constructive criticism...It's easy to do when you see someone making mistakes or doing some other annoying behavior---but we really need to bite our tongues in that situation to make sure we don't get too harsh in our criticism..If you can't help but vent about a bad weather presenter, then I say do it without calling a specific name....It's much better to say "I can't stand how some forecasters bla bla bla..." than to say "I can't stand how John Smith at KXXY-TV does bla bla bla..".....You never know when the person you're talking about is lurking the forum and you don't want to say anything directly to a specific person on here that wouldn't be polite to say directly to their face in public (or that you would be insulted if someone told you the same thing)..Just always remember that! If you're putting someones specific name to a comment, how would you feel if someone else made that same (or a similar) comment directed at you? That's the best way of determining the line between constructive criticism and insulting!

I think I had a date wih her back in college. We were all drunk and at a frat party. If she has a small, orange, "Lady Bug" tatoo on her right butt cheek....it's her.

Combine that with his jump roping skill and it's no wonder he has so much street cred.
