6. Because they lost to the Giants in the 2008 NFC Championship game, providing me with the the chance to see them win a Super Bowl in person.

(Thanks a lot for the reminder. Some of us were STANDING RIGHT THERE.
)5.) Paul Hornung stomped a mudhole in the Giants and walked that sumb*tch dry in two consecutive NFL title games: 1961 and 1962.

4. The Packers are the last vestige of "small town teams" that were once common in the NFL during the 1920s and 1930s... The Packers are the only non-profit, community-owned major league professional sports team in the United States.

Well, tvwxguy, we'll have to count that one as #3, seeing as how we never know if the #4 above is ever "really" retired.
![]() 2.) Mason Crosby. ![]() He kicked a ball into the Brown County Courthouse bell so many times... ...they had to take it down for repairs last week.

Nice touchdown-scoring-anthem reference, tater!
Now if only we could get 'em to bring back the traditional Packer fight song. (They're the only team in the NFC North that doesn't play it any more. Seriously!) Plus, it seriously has the word "bacon" in the lyrics. No joke.

On my last day in TV, my crew played Rundgren's anthem for me as my going-away song, in part as tribute to my fandom.
It still makes me get teary eyed.

How did the Pack do this weekend?
Weren't they playing the Vikings? Isn't Farve their new QB? Gotta score on that game?

Yeah, I gotcha score right here. But I'll let Stephen Colbert show it to you...
...or will he? ![]() Yeah, he prefers not to deal with the likes of you, either.

Go have a few brats and some Liennie to drown your sorrows.
Look at the bright side --at least you only have to lose twice to Farve each year.

The Pack is punked by Tampa Bay?
Way to screw up the Bucs "perfect season."

Thrill,
I spent some quality time in America's Dairyland this weekend. I went to buy a cheesehead for one of the Tripettes. BUT IT COST $25.00 .... for one piece of molded foam rubber. That's reason #1 why I hate the Green Bay Packers. (But I do love Spotted Cow beer. That's some good brew)
