Default Rise of sea levels is 'the greatest lie ever told'

http://www.telegraph.co.uk/comment/c...ever-told.html

One of his most shocking discoveries was why the IPCC has been able to show sea levels rising by 2.3mm a year. Until 2003, even its own satellite-based evidence showed no upward trend. But suddenly the graph tilted upwards because the IPCC's favoured experts had drawn on the finding of a single tide-gauge in Hong Kong harbour showing a 2.3mm rise. The entire global sea-level projection was then adjusted upwards by a "corrective factor" of 2.3mm, because, as the IPCC scientists admitted, they "needed to show a trend".

WOW, just WOW!

Also, the actual "temperature adjustments" from USHCN are about 0.5° according to the USHCN's own report.

Wierd how all the adjustments of data can arrive at the same result.

"The reason why Dr Mörner, formerly a Stockholm professor, is so certain that these claims about sea level rise are 100 per cent wrong is that they are all based on computer model predictions, whereas his findings are based on "going into the field to observe what is actually happening in the real world". "

"When I spoke to Dr Mörner last week, he expressed his continuing dismay at how the IPCC has fed the scare on this crucial issue. When asked to act as an "expert reviewer" on the IPCC's last two reports, he was "astonished to find that not one of their 22 contributing authors on sea levels was a sea level specialist: not one". Yet the results of all this "deliberate ignorance" and reliance on rigged computer models have become the most powerful single driver of the entire warmist hysteria."

Is anyone actually surprised by this? Yet another case of politics more important than science...

I give up trying to fight these theories anymore. Any theories. All theories. Well, except for the one about why my wife insists on the toilet roll going over the top.

Toilet paper roll: Isn't it easier to grab toilet paper if it is facing you...on the side closest to your hand? If it is placed on the dispenser with the paper under, rather than over, you need to reach down and toward the back of the roll to get the paper. It also is 'greener' if you are into that sort of thing...as it wastes less paper.

I'm with the ladies on this one.

EDIT TO ADD: Something I hadn't thought about until I just looked for these images...the visibility aspect of the 'next sheet'.

Underhand is the way to go in my opinion...

Getting my wife to move anywhere in the country with me was no problem, but getting her to convert from overhand to underhand toilet paper style has been a real stress on the relationship

This is my BIGGEST pet peeve. My fiance likes to put the tp on the "incorrect" way...and it drives me nuts. I'll purposely remove the roll and put it on the "correct" way often. Totally cumbersome in my opinion.

I'm going a little blue on this, but here goes:
First of all, assume that you wife used the roll last. And she left a little "business" by accident on the roll, due to "stinky pinky."
If you're over the top, you're getting the mess on your hand. If the roll goes under, the mess is on the floor, first. Even if it's not on the floor, it's on the opposite side of the paper, so you won't get "the business."

I would say that's a problem with your disgusting wife's personal hygiene that very few people share. Of all the family members and roommates I've lived with over the years, I can't ever recall this being a problem.

I only said "assume." It's not like there's a history of this going on in the household here...
