WTF was that? That's the most stupid movie I've ever seen. Thank God I bootlegged it off the net for free.

Did the director just make this sh!t up as he went along? Christ, the next thing you know they'll be telling us us Obama has a clue. (BTW, he's bringing us into domestic socialism)

Just so you would know.

Oliver Stone made up stuff in the "JFK" and "Nixon" movies so it wouldn't surprise me if he did it again.

JFK's a great film. Nixon, not so much. Haven't had any interest in W (though I recall at one time someone claiming I'd be seeing it at the Cinema).

When Nixon came out on home video, I watched it and made notes. By the end of the first half hour, I had two pages of historical inaccuracies. And Stone bought into some of the more off the wall conspiracy theories about JFK's death.

Still a great movie though and Stone himself referred to it as, "counter fiction."

In fairness, I can imagine what a counter fiction film about myself would be like.

I enjoyed W. I'm sure some of it is Hollywood, but I bet some of it is true.

You know, I'm gonna shock some people here....but I agree. "W" was a bad movie. It played fast and loose with the truth and made George W. Bush into a cartoon character. I never thought President Bush was the dolt he was made out to be. I thought he, and his Administration, made some bad decisions and had dangerous attitudes, but that was a political disagreement.

I felt that the movie exaggerated little personal quirks that Bush has (and everyone has some) and defined him by those. Really it wasn't much better that the "That's My Bush!" short-lived Comedy Central series.

And don't get me started on the actors who played Colin Powell and Condoleezza Rice......

But, as far as I'm concerned, there really havn't been many good Presidential biopics. A couple on HBO - "Truman" and "Path To War" - I thought were quite good.

Let's be honest... "W" just looks like a bad movie. I have zero desire to see it.

Paid good money to see it at the theatre. I know I am in a small minority, but I didn't think it was that bad... as a MOVIE. Inaccurate? You bet. But Oliver Stone knows how to make a movie. If you leave all of your prior beliefs about Bush outside, and just look at it as though it were fiction... then it is pretty entertaining.

And he does point out a couple of things about W that are not so bad.
1. He is not dumb. When he needs to learn something, he can.
2. He is a true beliver and not motivated by what will make him popular.

Wow. I am shocked and impressed. Good for you, Pro, on judging something based on its artistic merit and accuracy instead of its political content.

So the highest praise so far is "It was not that bad." That probably means it was.

Wow! What a true media professional you are! You better hope your IP address does not end up on the MPAA list. When you violate Federal copyright law, you should not post about it on the internet. And you should not thank God that you broke the law. I'm sure God is proud of you for stealing. Somebody who works in media should have a better grasp and apreciation of copyright laws. Keep up the good work. By the way, I haven't seen W and have no plans to do so.

Thanks. From the person who chips endlessly about egos, yet another post on the relentless march to 20,000 about... you.

Sultan's whining about ethics and egos is much akin to Colonel Sanders whining about killing chickens.

The Nixon and JFK movies were awful. The previews for W looked lame. But it received "critical acclaim" and as we know, the critics are smarter than everyone else.

I think critics panned Mad City and I love that film.
