Default This Makes Me Laugh...

...FREEZE WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 9 AM EST THIS MORNING...
...HARD FREEZE WARNING IN EFFECT FROM 2 AM TO 8 AM EST THURSDAY...

THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN MELBOURNE HAS ISSUED A HARD
FREEZE WARNING...WHICH IS IN EFFECT FROM 2 AM TO 8 AM EST
THURSDAY.

A FREEZE WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 9 AM EST THIS MORNING.

ALL PERSONS IN EAST CENTRAL FLORIDA VENTURING OUTDOORS THIS
MORNING...SHOULD DRESS IN LAYERS AND WEAR A HAT.

A HARD FREEZE WARNING MEANS SUB-FREEZING TEMPERATURES ARE
IMMINENT OR HIGHLY LIKELY. THESE CONDITIONS WILL KILL CROPS AND
OTHER SENSITIVE VEGETATION.

A FREEZE WARNING MEANS SUB-FREEZING TEMPERATURES ARE IMMINENT OR
HIGHLY LIKELY. THESE CONDITIONS WILL KILL CROPS AND OTHER
SENSITIVE VEGETATION.

I mean, I know all about the tender vegatation down there, but telling people to dress in layers and wear a hat because the low temp may dip to around 30°! Come on! If my high temp made it to 30°, you'd see people doing everyday activities in light jackets and others running in shorts and long sleeves! Silly Floridians.

Not trying to start a debate or anything like that... I just got a chuckle out of this.

On the other side of things, when I went to Michigan several summers back I was wearing jeans while everyone was complaining of the "awful heat and humidity". It was about 85/64 at the time.

I remember in Miami we had a wind chill advisory for wind chill values in the 30s and 40s! Some people wouldn't even go outside into the bitter grip of old man winter.
Hey, it's all based on what you are used to. 30 in Orlando is the heart of winter while it's just another day in Lansing.

Northern Wisconsin is the same way. Dews in the upper 50s and people are talking about how humid it is... I'm from northern Illinois (so only ~300 miles south) and don't really even notice the humidity at that point.

As a southerner anything in the 30s is COLD. Here is something to ponder. The past two days my area has not gotten out of the 30s. That is 20 degrees below the average. This wasn't even record cold. But in the summer we never get 20 degrees above the average, if we did it would be 110 degrees. Now I feel warmer!

Yea, the south may not be manly about the cold, but take it from this Midwestern born fella, your blood thins out man . . . I can't take the cold anymore . . .

My buddy from Cleveland has said he may explode if he were to live in the South all year

Uh, Winter Storm Warnings are issued in so texas anytime any type of frozen precip is forecasted. School will usually be canceled for highs in the 30's. You have to remember, a lot of these people do not own winter coats. On the flip side, in the summer, a heat advisory is issued when heat index values are 110 or 115+ I think i have seen one heat warning in 6 years. Where as in the midwest, heat advisories are for what, Heat index of 90-95+ The thinning of the blood has soooo much to do with it.

Between CRP and AMA would suggest to me either SAT, AUS, ACT, SJT or ABI or SPS
