Atlantic Coast Heat Burst

Interesting note from NWS Wilmington, NC...Appears there was a heat burst along the Carolina coast last week. Very rare to find these in this part of the country.

Wow, good find! I live near Georgetown, and heard the wind... wish I had watched my thermometer, or stepped outside. Certianly don't expect heat bursts in SC.

So true! Then again, it sure wasn't the pattern that one would typically expect in SC, either. 18z CHS sounding had 7692 J/Kg SBCAPE

...EL practically 115mb....Temps well over 100 degrees along with widespread golfball size hail. Nothing would surprise me from that day. I was starting to get concerned about landspout potential.
