I like Church's. I like that Fayetteville has one now. I'm still more of a Boston Market guy though.

I just find it remarkable that depending on whatever one's personal feelings are about whatever issue, one will either say, "the company has a right to their viewpoint and people shouldn't attack them," or say, "people have a right to voice their opinion and displeasure at the company, especially with their money." Sometimes, there's even a risk of a flip-flop on which of these arguments one cares to pursue.

If some celebrity speaks out in favor of marriage equality or against it, there's a pretty good chance someone will shout that celebrity down along the lines of, "shut up and act/play sports/whatever," and someone of the opposing view saying that the celebrity has a right to speak his/her mind like the rest of us. It all comes down to whether one agrees with what's being said and from there, it's off to some intellectually dishonest crusade for the opposing sides.

All while the catalyst of this gets more attention, which means more attention to the product. Also known as free advertising.

Marty started discussing hot dogs earlier in the thread after getting hot and bothered.
Read into that what you will.

Yes and yes. I don't plan to give up Chik-fil-A.

One aspect of this we haven't covered is the cleverness of the Chik-fil-A name.

Have you figured it out yet?

Okay...I'll give you a hint--the chik refers to Chicken. That's right--chicken!

And now this will blow you away-- fil-A. Get it? Say it three times fast. Yep. Filet! FILET! You can get chicken filet sandwiches there.

So that quells any controversy for me. Any place with that kind of creativity merits my business.

Plus I can take home extras and have them on my favorite white bread....HOLSUM bread.

Hey wait a minute, you don't suppose HOLSUM stands for anything, do ya?

There's no debating over their waffle fries. Those are great with ketchup.

So if they wanted to be more gay friendly they could open a "Chick-Fell-A"?

(ducks)

I say, what's the big freakin deal?! If you agree with the owner for CFA, then fine....If you don't agree with the owner of CFA, then fine....If you want to eat at CFA, then eat there....If you don't want to eat at CFA, then don't eat there.

It's that simple! Why anyone would worry themselves over one powerless man's words, I have no clue.

I agree. Let's apply that to gay marriage, too. If you don't want to get gay married, then don't.

Thanks Pro. I'm sure that will keep your thread count up.

Everyone knows it's a political issue. It has been for quite some time. But someone being asked about it though doesn't mean they are trying to be political.

Agreed. Sometimes, a question falls into the "three no-winner trap":

1. Politics
2. Sex
3. Religion

In this case, it hits on all three. Choose your poison, and someone else will claim it belongs in the other category.

Here's a point to ponder...

Up until 3 months ago, Cathy & Obama shared the same viewpoint.

Where was all the fake outrage then?

Again, we are talking about why the Chick-fil-a comment about supprting traditional marriage became political. this has nothing to do with state ballots. Why did groups dislike a personal opinion? They chose to make it political.
