Not that there's anything wrong with that.

I didn't get into that. I said if someone doesn't like it, all they have to do is not eat one. Slight difference. I can't eat Oreos, as I mentioned, so it is not an issue for me one way or another.

I'm confused. Is the argument over a cookie ... or a picture of a cookie?
Because the cookie, itself, is an ugly monstrosity that is undunkable and would probably run about $7 for a package of three. If it's merely the picture of an ill-proposed cookie, then what the hell? The gays can have their own picture of a cookie if they feel it's important to their lifestyle.. Maybe there's a paint-by-numbers version they can paint, frame and hang in their bathrooms or dens. This is the oddest thread I've read on Medialine in a very long time. |

It's not a real cookie and Oreo isn't intending on making one.
They made the image to celebrate national gay pride day. Homophobes everywhere went kookoobananas, and now there is a thread on Medialine. As Paul Harvey would say, now you know... the rest of the story. As an aside, I think this was one of my favorite shared versions of the picture I saw passed along: ![]() eta: it says at the bottom of both the real and manipulated image 'Made with creme colors that do not exist', which should prove that it's not a real cookie. |

Yes, sadly it does NOT exist, but the hatred over an image of a non-existent product was the point of this thread. I'll bet the straights wouldn't hesitate to have their own cookie, but when the gays want one, that's too much. It shows the bigotry that still exists.

The first time I saw the rainbow cookie I thought it was clever. It didn't make me think I needed a straight cookie. IMO, that would have been rediculous.

No one ever fights over a Fig Newton, because a cookie is just a cookie.

Besides, Fig Newtons are an acquired taste. I wouldn't fight you for one because they're nasty, IMO.

I'd guess the official straight person's cookie would be the chocolate-chip. Or maybe the Peanut Butter cookie.
Im just thankful for the information the official gay cookie will not be mass-produced. What a monstrosity ... an insult to cookies -- and gays -- everywhere. |

The Fig Newton commercial from the 1970's was by far, BY FAR the most openly, proudly, flamboyantly gay commercial on TV at the time. Nothing else came close to it. Nothing.

Once you know the British word for cookie, it's very understandable why an outspoken anti-gay activist would go after someone else's biscuits, don't you think?

I still love you, AS.
In a Pepridge Farm kind of way, of course. |
