Headline contains a misspelling, which might explain why there's no comma after "New." I guess the inappropriate colon hold the answer. (And yes, The Inappropriate Colon would make a good band name.)

What country's premier might they have been addressing?

Scary, ain't it? But it happens to me all the time. Last week someone at work used a great turn of phrase and I instantly said, "That would be a great name for a band." He laughed and I was glad it worked even without ML for context.

A good meme is a good meme.

It should work, considering that it didn't originate here and has been in widespread use for years, thanks primarily to Dave Barry.
