Default Temperature Anomaly Maps

Anyone have any experience creating these types of maps. I'm going to be creating forecasts for temperature anomalies (weekly and Monthly). I need some help in getting started. What are some good resources to use for quantifying anomalies for a large area? And what’s the best approach in creating these maps?

Nothing for 2009, though.

I use this site more often than I'd like:

I familiar with how to produce anomaly maps for past data. However, my task is to create a forecast map. I was just wondering if there was a good way to create these forecast maps. More specifically a way to quantify these the areas/actual anomalies in map form. For instance, does the GFS (or any other model) create a forecast map of anomalies? My only thought so far is to pick forecast points throughout the us and connect he dots. However, that would be way too time consuming for me to accomplish.

http://nws.met.psu.edu/ensembles/ (uses Java) has GFS, SREF, etc. anomalies for various pressure levels.

http://www.meteo.psu.edu/~gadomski/ewallmref.html has the individual and operational mean/anomalies for the 500mb Canadian and GFS progs.

Thanks Scott. I have used the top link before, but I just couldn't remember where to find it.

Default Sfc temp anomalies

You might want to look at this URL:
http://www.hpc.ncep.noaa.gov/cgi-bin/get_medr.cgi

Select min or max temp anomalies in first drop down box.... and color/white option in second drop down box.

Default 2m temp anomalies

It's a model fcst and the scale is rather large but here's another look:
