Acting like an ass? I think I hear the pot calling.

All of the greats I have had the pleasure to encounter, be it the research side or professors could fall into the category that you are implying. I would say more eccentric than anything. Amazing how humans have different personality's "ain't" it? I get the impression that your ego leads you to want everyone to kiss your ass, or to hell with them.

Yeah, you're right... a lot of humans do have different personalities. Some treat other human beings with respect, some are condescending. Maybe I should be more accepting of the latter, but I've never been able to bring myself to it.

I guess since he's such an accomplished scientist though, it's ok to treat people like crap and threaten them because you're part of a government project.

If you'll notice, I never said it was OK to do. But I imagine that his ass is on the line a bit. I would probably act the same way if I were able to secure millions in grant money based on something I thought I could deliver, and then have a mediocre start to the project. If you were in his position, wouldn't you want to do everything you could to protect the project? What W implied is no different from what we have to deal with, piss off the wrong people and you'll be black balled and end up working at Best Buy instead behind the camera. It's a relatively small world in the grand scheme of things.

Naah, it's worth watching even with the over-the-top personalities. The tornado footage alone is worth sitting thru the 600 commercials Discovery crams into every show.

DVR my friend... DVR. And yes, even though the drama sucks, the show is quite worth watching just for the tornado footage.

I noticed comments about Reed not offering up his radar frequency ranges to Josh. Reed did. The clip you saw in SC of Reed talking to Josh was before Reed ever got a hold of his radar and knew what frequency it was operating at. Reed always has been willing to work with Josh and Vortex and he did give Josh the information so they could work it out, but the heavy editing of the show made it seem as though Reed didn't.

Last night's episode rocked! Reed was a scientist, first and foremost. He explained himself well, and the show was actually interesting.

I almost didn't watch it because my guide said it was an episode from Season 1. Despite my reservations about Reed, I will be interested to see what his data showed. Also, I am waiting to see how things play out if and when Reed finds out Joel is/was with the Scout team.

One question: if Reed faces a huge hailstorm, what is going to keep those data boxes from buying the farm?

Didn't think about it, but that is a legit question.

My guess is that it's in something at least semi-hail resistant.

$50K?!? Ouch. I'm not sure how much he sold his data for, but I think the earlier comments about him doing this to get rich are clearly not valid...

After watching the last episode, it's clear to me that Reed Timmer isn't interested in science at all. I agree with all the Reed-bashers now.

I don't know that I'd go so extreme, but I agree - if he got that info in May and here we are 6 months down the road and even the most basic data hasn't been released, seems like something strange going on.

I think you missed my sarcasm...

But like you, I am wondering where the data is. Maybe he's been keeping it in a lock box until the episode aired

Guess you missed the Lexus car commercial featuring Reed which aired during the show?
I almost missed it when I was fast-fowarding through the ads.

50K is a great investment if it can land you a six-figure deal with a luxury car company.

I saw that and the Discvoery Channel guy with him in the ad. I bet that is NOT sitting well with some folks.
