Default Pretty REAL Women

All the talk about Sarah Palin got me thinking. (Yes it hurt)

The Governor is a very pretty woman. Which in these days of media manipulation says something. She's not been beneficiary of a media makeover... and I can't say throughout all this I've ever seen a bad pic of her, even from before she was picked.

What OTHER women, who don't make a living looking good, would you considere beautiful.

No actresses or models or TV stars.

I think Susan Rice (Obama Foreign Policy Advisor) is very pretty, So is Dara Torres (although she does do some modeling so maybe she doesn't count) The DC Police Chief Cathy Lanier's not hard on the eyes. Jenna Bush has gotten much prettier over the past 8 years, (Barbara's sort of slipping)

I'm sure there are more... what do you think.

I guess I'm in a small minority who rejects your premise. I don't find Palin "attractive." She's not homely or anything like that ... but she wouldn't stick out from across the room, either.

If I saw her, something of mine would stick out across the room!

Mighty Dyckerson, ladies and gentlemen! He's going to give the governor the middle finger!

The women in the Dove ads are all attractive to me. But, hell, I'm now over 50, so that accounts for a lot.

Well she is pretty old. Wait are you talking about the younger one .

I think she's the prettier of the two.

I dunno. Scott McClellan had the job at one time.

I think Jhumpa Lahiri, a Pulitzer Prize winning American author (of Indian descent) is gorgeous -- not to mention gifted with words too. I thoroughly enjoyed reading her short stories.

She didn't need a media makeover. She's a pageant girl. Pageant girls are taught how to make the most of what they have.

Well ... I don't know that "float my boat" is a characterization I should adopt ... but I understand what you're going for.

Given the parameters you set up (women whose beauty or good looks are at least secondary or immaterial to their accomplishments) I guess I would turn to women athletes, where beauties like Ina Ivanovic, Jenny Finch, Natalie Gulbis and Katarina Witt reside. And many, many others.

I'd exclude the WNBA, of course, where all the women look like Michael Spinks.

Diana Taurasi of the Phoenix Mercury.

I don't see Michael Spinks.
I see a former UConn player who most likely would embarrass a good number of us here in a pick up game while still retaining her female charms.

Looks by themselves are not necessarily sexy.
A great attitude only helps.

Let me repost the original poster's question:
Quote:
What OTHER women, who don't make a living looking good, would you considere beautiful.
Nothing asked about charm, attitude, sexiness or basketball sckills.

And no offense, but Michael Spinks look-a-like or not, I don't find the pictures you posted examples of a "beautiful" woman.

Sexiness and beautiful should be hand in hand.
It's really a matter of taste.
I have to explain?
I'll play.

The original post...

She isn't trying to look good, she's on a mission.
How she dresses and acts after games frankly shouldn't play into your theory.

"Who don't make a living looking good..." is key.
Diana runs up and down a basketball court for the entirety of a WNBA game to assist her team to a win.
She's sweating, out of breath and most likely doesn't smell good, yet she knocks herself out to show her team as the best.

Diana is not trying to look "good".
According to your world, beautiful outlaws all other emotional outlets, sexy doesn't count?

That is true, charm, attitude and sexiness were not brought up, let alone sckills.
BTW it's spelled SKILLS.
They were not discounted either.
Tripe asked a question, I answered it.

Beauty (sexy: my words) and attitude...
One without the other doesn't work.

How shallow is your pool, Side?

Ten four on Ana... she's my fave Tennis player but she's in a slump.

And I can attest to Katarina's beauty first hand. I interviewed her one on one years ago just after she stopped competing. Very Beautiful.

True beauty can not be measured in looks alone. For one can be the most physically beautiful being on the planet - but still be a very ugly person.

Tripe's original post only asked about "who you thought was beautiful". It did not mention PHYSICAL beauty at all.

Remember too ... that beauty is only in the eye of the beholder.

Hush, I've never laid eyes on you... In spike of constant begging for pictures... but I can tell you are a beautiful person. (Of course, that doesn't include your killer hairball with teeth)

However... yes... in this case I'm just talking about physical beauty.

I think Laura Ingraham is a very beautiful woman, but I don't particularly like her... Same with that Fox Sports Chick Jillian something or other... she annoys the heck out of me.

And Sarah Palin, should McCain wins, scares me... but I think she is very pretty.

Girlfriends?? Plural?
You're pulling a Hefner and simultaneously dating/doing more than one chick? And, they are coexisiting happily without inflicting injury toward you or each other??

You're one lucky SOB, SoS!
