Default NFL Coaches - Pick 'Em

Boy, would it be nice to see John Fox land in Oakland. Niner fans can dream of Chucky.

But where do Gruden and Cowher fit in? And just when has a minority coach been hired because of the Rooney Rule?

Mike Tomlin.

Not true.
Tomlin was the 2nd minority the Steelers interviewed. They said Tomlin was on their short list the whole time so they used the Rooney rule to give another minority candidate the opportunity to experience a head coach interview.

It's a nice thought, but the Rooney Rule has proven to be about as flexible as most other rules in the NFL. Tomlin sure did a great job this year, especially at the start.

I was surprised the Bengals kept Marvin Lewis, but who do they get that's any better. And Cable probably coulda been gone after last year, so it's hard to see how he gets the hook with an unbeaten record in his division.

Miami is a big question mark. Sporano did about as well as any coach could with that team, so how does Harbaugh make that much a difference? Can anybody win under Tuna? Denver's supposedly got a great owner, yet look at their record lately.

Which brings us to the Niners. Harbaugh could be the missing piece. But it would make too much sense...

The state of Michigan wants Harbaugh back. But I can see him jumping to the NFL, especially if he were to stay in the neighborhood with the Niners.

Please somebody, hire Cowher and get him off my TV! And while you're at it, let's install Terry Bradshaw somewhere too, so I can ignore him again.

p.s. -- Vince Young will not be returning to the Titans next year. Sounds like Jeff Fisher will be staying and I, for one, am happy about that.

My predictions....

Harbaugh will go to the 49ers for a big payday, and he will also get a say on who is the next GM as well....the 49ers will pay that to acquire a bargaining chip for the new stadium they want...since Harbaugh is loved up there.

Russ Grimm to Carolina. The Panthers don't want to pay the big bucks to get a big time coach.

Cowher to the Dolphins....ownership is pissed that the Heat have become the team of South Beach....a big name coach puts them back in the spotlight.

As for the Raiders, I hear a lot about Hugh Jackson (who was hired by Al Davis). But since we are talking about Davis...all bets are off.

The Cowboys get Jason Garrett and the Vikings sign Leslie Frazier, both in season replacements.

As for the Rooney rule, I don't think it's needed anymore since NFL owners has discovered that the color of one's skin doesn't mean a thing when it comes to qualification to do the job.

About time they discovered that too...

Allowing your libido to rule your NFL franchise would be a less than ideal situation.
