Anyway, reminds me of a cute story. We were covering some hippie gathering here in Tulsa called 'Diversity Fest' or 'DiverseFest' or something like that, known as D-Fest. Anyway, we went up to some girls who were waiting in line for tickets to ask them the usual MOS questions.

The informed us that they don't speak to FOX News. I laughed till I realized they were serious. I explained that we were FOX23, not FOX News, but they rebutted that it didn't matter since we were all owned by Rupert and supported the war.

I laughed again till I realized this twit actually believed what she was saying.

Being against the Iraq war myself I was slightly annoyed, since morons like that make the more rational anti-war people look bad...

Apparently, if Jamie Colby's anchoring is any indication, the whole idea was to get these people's thoughts...and Fox News definetly got said thoughts, so I'm not sure why there'd be complaining.

Most viewers do not understand the relationships among networks, their affiliates and newschannels with very similar names. To them, FOX 23 has news, FOX Newschannel has news, and one is merely a subsidiary of the other. It's not correct, but very common for viewers to confuse local, network and cable (at least Fox News and MSNBC) because of the overlapping nomenclature.
