Who doesn't? It's cool, though. I'd rather write it myself than clean up their garbage.

That's not a generalization, though. I've worked with many fine anchors/reporters who write good.

I hope to God "write good" was a joke. Of course now you will say you meant to do that...but methinks your english is a bit shady.

Look at the smiley at the end, kingnv. I would say no producer is that dumb, but alas, I can't.

When I was a producer, I didn't mind if an anchor wanted to write their own stuff. Less for me to write...

But I must say, that didn't happen often. I had several anchors that didn't give a damn, they'd read whatever was in front of them.

That scene in "Anchorman" was the one that rang most true!

I absolutely LOVED anchors who would read whatever I wrote for them, but usually it happened the most after I got to know how they liked to speak.

You can send out all kinds of secret messages in your 'cast when they do.

Well all I can say about this topic is this.....I don't think I can write or produce, I KNOW I can! Seriously though, I've had co-anchors who thought as much, and I've had some who simply rocked(!)correcting some of my flaws before. And on the other end, I've had producers who simply made situations worse, and some who saved the day. It's a mixed bag world maaaannnnnn, but I dig it!
