View Full Version : Crash Davis Returns

So I'm a sportscaster again, took a job doing weekend spx in a small market not too far from where I live now.
It was a really tough decision, especially with a wife and 2 kids, but I would always have been disappointed if I never got back into media. My wife is of course apprehensive, but she wants me to be happy, and I think she's tired of me moping around and complaining about it. :)
I'll be able to keep practicing law part time to make ends meet, and hopefully I can get back to a medium or big market in a couple of years. We'll see.
I'm sure I'll start lurking and posting more here too.

Well, if you wanna make it back to the show, meat, two words -- shower clogs.
Good luck keeping that dream alive. It's great to have family supporting you like that. 'Guess it's all that time you spend painting her toenails.
But I always wondered, runner on second, game on the line, who do you want at the plate --- Crash Davis or Roy Hobbs?
Of course, you could guess, I'd prefer royalty...

So, you couldn't post while not working in TV? Especially with your apparant die-hard love of it (eschewing money and family to take a small-market weekend job out of town), one would think you would never have left us.

Well, then it opens up the discussion to more folks who, if you know what I mean, bat from the other side of the plate...

Honestly, I stayed away from Medialine because it was a little depressing. And I'm not eschewing family, they're all going with me. My wife rocks.
Since I will essentially have two jobs, I'm not sure how much I can post, but I will be lurking more and posting when I can.
Thanks y'all, it's great to be back.

No worries Crash, I just said that since your wife was apprehensive about the idea.
Good luck, hopefully you will be one of the success stories. I have been out since 2007 and have never been happier not dealing with the crap of TV. You have it in your blood, so things are different in your case. I wouldn't pass up a fill-in offer locally, but I really couldn't care less about getting back in, especially with the way things have gone downhill in the past 2 years.

Those threads are totally the Democrat's fault.
I mean the Republican's.
Heck with it, let's just blame Kace.
