Engineers....mid 40's to late 50's
Studio.........mid 50's
Photogs.......mid 30's to mid 60's
Front office..mid 20's to early 30's
Management...Mid 50's

Reporters.....late 30s to 60s.
Assistant/Associate Producers ... early 20s to early 30s.
Full Producers ... 30s to 50s.
Senior Producers ... late 30s to 60s.
Writers ... early 30s to 60s.
Executive Producers ... late 30s to 60s.
Engineers ... 30s to 60s.
Studio ... 30s to 60s.
Photogs ... 40s to 60s.
Front office ... (???)
Management ... 40s to 70s.

Floor crew: low 20's
Photogs: 20s-low 30's
Producers: 20s-low 30's
ND:mid to upper 30's
Anchors: 33-upper 30's

***note:Ages may be skewed, as some in the newsroom have been 34 for a few years.:shifty:

GM and Chief Engineer and Business Manager - 60s

Studio.........you mean production? mostly early-mid 20s. directors in mid-late 30s
Photogs.......late 20's-late 30s. One is 55+
Front office....50ish
Management...old enough to annoy the piss out of me

If there's any pattern showing (network aside) it's that producers are younger than the reporters.

I can't see how that's a good thing for local news operations, particularly in producer-driven newsrooms. There's just no news experience there.

No kidding. The near future looks to have many many stations, major affiliates, that look like college stations.:(

Here...
Reporters...Mostly all in early-mid 20s...two in 30s, 1 in 50s.
Producers....early 20's to late 20s
Photogs.......mid 20s to mid 50s
Desk...early 20s to 30.
Management...Assistant ND is early 30s, ND/GM is 51.

For you youngsters out there, there was a time when producers were the same age as reporters, or older. It seems like (leans back in chair) just yesterday.

No, it was many years ago.

And at the risk of seeming sexist, they used to be middle-age guys and now are often 20-something girls.

engineers-40's to 60's
photogs-20's-30's

mid market legacy station.

I started in the last few years of when a step up from the 140's was to go to a 100's, then the 60's, so on and so forth. The last five years have really been when the middle markets started hiring no experience folks, etc.

Your pay should always be more than your age. If it begins to flip flop....time to find a new career, cause you are just spinning your wheels.:confused:
