According to the Baltimore Sun, Brian Kilmeade, co-host of "Fox & Friends" has apologized for remarks he made on air about American ethnicity. Discussing a Swedish study on the relationship between Alzheimer's disease and marriage, Kilmeade said it was problematic to compare Swedish and American populations, because, "we [Americans] keep marrying other species and other ethnics...Swedes have pure genes...in America we marry everybody..."

Perhaps they should reinvent their slogan. Fox: Fair skinned and unbalanced.

I saw this clip - and it is indeed unnerving. You could see the co-host (who I believe was responsible for the Obama "terrorist fist-jab" comment) was hoping the man would just stop talking and wanted nothing to do with it.

This is one of the major problems with news today in America. It has gotten to be so personality-driven, opinion-driven and jokey, that this passes for a proper news program.

Agreed, to a point. Mind-numbing fake outrage leads these "talking heads" to open their mouths just to hear themselves talk. Big disconnect between the brain stem and motor control.

I made an unfortunate assine comment once ad-libbing with the sports guy(I know, danger Will Robinson, danger). He ended his sportscast talkin' about a pro baseball player who couldn't speak a lick of English, needed a translator. Enter isthisthingon? and a very uncalled for joke about the irony of playing the National/America's pastime but can't speak English. It was supposed to be just a joke, but as soon as it came out, I knew it was waaaay out of line.
I never felt like more a douche in my life than in that moment. :(
Wish I could take it back.
Shame on me, seriously. But lesson learned. Do the news, don't try to be funny.

I missed that episode of Fox and Friends because my Ford F-350 broke down on the way back from the Walmart on a trip to buy a 300 foot American Flag for the front yard of my doublewide.

It's pretty clear 2:30 created this thread just to try out her (or someone else's) new jab about "fair skinned and unbalanced". I'm guessing she culled it from the comments at HuffPo.

I think I know what he was trying to say, and he said it poorly. What I think he meant to say is that there's not as much intermarriage between people of different ethnic groups in Sweden and Finland, and that it's hard to compare their genetic makeup to people in the US, which is a great melting pot. I don't know if that's true or not because I don't keep up with those statistics.

The PC liberals assume Kilmeade meant marriage between black and white people, or white and Asian, Hispanic, etc. I doubt any of them considered the fact that someone of Irish heritage marrying someone of Italian heritage, or someone whose ancestry is from one part of Africa marrying a person whose is from another, and so forth, would be considered "intermarriage." If someone of Japanese ancestry marries someone of Chinese ancestry, my Chinese friends would consider that a "mixed marriage." My friend of European Jewish descent married a WASP lady of English ancestry--that's also "intermarriage." Not that it matters, though.

Bottom line--it was a stupid thing for Kilmeade to say.

Well then, let's go through said poster's posting here.

Discussing a Swedish study on the relationship between Alzheimer's disease and marriage, Kilmeade said it was problematic to compare Swedish and American populations, because, "we [Americans] keep marrying other species and other ethnics...Swedes have pure genes...in America we marry everybody..."

Now here, she introduces us to the point of the topic while in the final line, providing us with her take on the issue she's presented to us. So really your statement rings illogical. But then from the looks of it, it could just be something personal between you and 2:30 and if so, there's nothin' I can really do about that. And if for some reason, you still feel the need to try and start a needless argument with me, it'll in all probability stem from some unnecessary personal issue you've made up towards me. Thankfully, you're still logical enough not to do that (I think).

So I'm glad I was able to clear this up for you and now we can simply focus on the topic itself. You're welcome.

YOU started the argument, Kace.

Actually I haven't started any arguments.

You don't agree with mine, so you said what you said.

No, if that were true, I'd say something like, "I disagree with what you said about Brian Kilmeade!" and then try to explain why.

And you defended the OP because you agree with her. That's OK. Just be honest about your viewpoints.

Trying to make this about me doesn't make anything I said any less true. As for opinions on Kilmeade in this topic, I'm in agreement with you. And I'm being very honest about that viewpoint. So relax, will ya?

You are wrong in saying the last line of my post was all that needed to be said. Who made you the arbiter of what I can and cannot say? I was asked a question by another poster and I answered it in the way that I deemed appropriate. And no, you really haven't made it terribly clear you agree with me, but if you think you do, you're entitled to that opinion and I respect that right.

I will type this slowly so you can understand.

You think you agreed with me, and that's your opinion. I see it otherwise, which is MY opinion.

You didn't like my answer for some reason (and I think I know why), so you took potshots at my answer, to a question I was asked. I was asked the question so I answered it, and did not need any assistance.

At issue with this is not Kilmeade--it's that you didn't like my answer.
