What are some of the best broadcast/media companies to work for? Serious answers appreciated... where does Meredith stand?

Gannett and Belo use to be at the top. They were standards of excellence. Yeah, used to be. My how the mighty have fallen.

It's really a difficult question to answer these days, since even the most well-known and respected companies are struggling. Those with newspapers have probably suffered more. Even the networks are risky in this economy.

The only one I've heard that's any good these days is Hearst/Argyle. At one time they expressed interest in buying our station but the owner wouldn't sell.

I don't even know how to answer that question. So many companies are struggling. You basically need to look for companies that haven't taken on a big debt load over the past five years. Those are the ones who are still doing ok.
