Saw this gem as a station's Tweet

"KFOX14 (http://twitter.com/KFOX14)Want to outsmart those red light cameras and speed traps? To find out how, check out KFOX News at Six."

Break the law! Get away with it! We'll tell you how!

OK, I just HAD to see this story so I went to their website. Here it is (http://www.kfoxtv.com/news/19979891/detail.html).

What a riveting story. I was moved. No really, I was and it wasn't just the burritos Mrs. Broken made for dinner. Or was it... hmm.

Get this. Are you ready for this? ARE YOU READY?!?!

You don't BREAK the law. You OBEY IT!!!

That's right boys and girls, by deftly utilizing special Produce Man Grade Special Software installed on your smart phone, you are warned where there are speed traps and red light cams! You then wait for an alert. When you hear it, you stop driving like a reckless ass and start obeying the law!

Genius!!! Pure GENIUS!!!! I LOVE AMERICA!:worship::worship: Clearly this proves what ultra superior super genius grade geniuses we have in the news business. We should go to that website RIGHT NOW and click on an ad. Just because!

Too much? It was too much, wasn't it? Sorry.

Why was I owned?

a) I wasn't commenting on the story itself - i was commenting on the TEASE about it!

b) when I went to their site the story wasn't posted, so i couldn't watch it

c) if anything, the tease insinuates you can BREAK THE LAW and then be alerted to OBEY the law. so, yeah, they are still telling you how to break the law and get away with it.

please, why don't ALL YOU NEWS GENUISES get the point?

Actually the pwn belongs to the news station itself, not you, TWG.

I don't get it.

And thanks, News. I didn't think I was the one getting pwned but apparently some people on here were too stupid to get that ;)

So which was it, did you think you were owned, or not? Answer the question, and may I remind you, you're still under oath.

Your honor, as defense exhibit 3 clearly depicts, I was not owned, rather the station KFOX was.

If it pleases the court I would call the previous witness to the stand to clarify the Georgia reporter comment.

I would like to say in my own defense, since I was called stupid, that:

1) I was making a Twitter joke (i.e. the @TWG)

2) I thought the whole purpose of NiB's post was to prove TWG wrong. I obviously mistook the intent of his post, as normally people here usually attack the OP, I was simply being a follower; in this case I placed the cart before the horse.

I do believe that I should be given a pass on this one and that the stupid comment should be retracted post haste, especially considering all my amature copyright lawyering I've been doing around here lately.

However I will defer to whatever decision Mockingbird hands down, as he's proven himself worthy to hand out the asshat awards.

Judging from the strain being put on those shirt buttons on your uniform, it would probably take both of them to make sure your ass was probably grabbed.

Yeah I'm still trying to figure out how I started out looking like Ensign Pulver and ended up shaped like Lt. Cmdr. McHale.

Not surprisingly, a new study of Twitter (Pear Analytics) indicates 41% of the tweets studied are nothing but "pointless babble." Less than four-percent was considered "news" or useful information.

1. Pointless Babble (41%)
2. Conversational (38%)
3. Pass Along Value (9%)
4. Self Promotion (6%)

The study is here: www.pearanalytics.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/08/Twitter-Study-August-2009.pdf

Unlike Facebook, Twitter and those who use it, haven't figured out what it's good/best at.

Don't feel so bad. Service khaki is the great equalizer -- everybody looks equally bad. I caught eternal hell for having mine tailored. Even then it still didn't fit right.

Kudos for putting up three of the all-time great sidekicks. Tim Conway, Joe Flynn, and Ward Bond. And I'm happily whistling the "McHales" theme...
