Okay, I need info QUICK on WSAV in Savannah. The good and the bad. If you need to send me an instant message. I know the city well, but not the overall news product.
Thanks everyone!

the duopoly that is ABC-Fox. While we were a crappy outlet (bad management, worse company, so-so staff etc), WSAV was a strong number two. When I was there, they had a very solid on-air team, good reporting staff and really good producers.
Most of what I've heard from people who work there is that if you got your "A" game on, then you can do well. It's not really a place for anyone who is just beginning or for those who aren't sure of what they want to be when they grow up. I had a few of the people working with me leave us to go to them. (I think one or two of them are still there).
IMO the only reason they're not number one is that longtime market leader WTOC has a bit of a lock on the market and they have a good solid company that believes in their product and staff.
Good Luck!

WSAV is a Media General station. MG is struggling, like most ownership groups. Stock is down and there's apparently been a lot of pressure to cut costs.
Master Control is centralized, and so is the graphics department, so be prepared to make phone calls to Richmond and Spartanburg for information. (this is assuming they are doing the same we are doing).
Other than that, I can't tell you much.

What about current management? Is it producer driven or reporter run? What is pay like for producers?
