View Full Version : You know who I would vote for ...

HushHush

The very first candidate that's Agnostic or Atheist .. or even the first candidate that doesn't quote bible passages or mention God, Allah, Mohammad, Jesus, etc... Then I know - without fail - that religion won't cross in to their politics.

It is all well and good to have a basic set of moral standards to live by. You all know that I lean towards the true blue liberal democrat side ... but even Obama has quoted bible scripture during his debates and town hall meetings. And I really do get tired of hearing the candidates mentioning God all the time.

The candidates are doing a disservice to the millions of Americans in the country who are not religious. And perhaps this is why so many of us are truly undecided on which way to vote in the fall.

Just as I told the Democratic party when they last called me .. if you stop calling me I'll consider voting for your candidate. They stopped calling me.

So I'm throwing this out to all you hidden political cronies - report back to your bosses - stop quoting scripture, lecturing us on God, trying to convert us to your belief system. Then I just might vote for you in the fall.

I'm just saying!

I'm not sure about the other religions, but a true christian wouldn't get involved with a slimy, under-handed and dishonest profession like politics.

Vote for Dyckerson. I don't mention God unless I stub my toe or have an orgasm. And even then, there's usually nobody else around to hear it.

I'll probably catch Hell for askin' this, but I figured somebody might as well.

If a candidate can't have any faith in God, how are we supposed to think he/she's gonna have enough faith in his/her own country?

Because one's country is somewhat tangible and it's existence is confirmed by physical evidence; God requires faith because there isn't any real, hard and fast proof of his existence. Running a country doesn't require faith, just vision, goals and the intelligence to lead us or take us to or towards those goals. Would you ever wonder if one doesn’t believe in Santa; then how could one believe in reindeer?

I'd rather have a President that has the faith in his own people over one who puts all his faith into an imaginary friend.

Au contraire Hush... Jesus is no imaginary friend. He's real. He even posts on Medialine sometimes (or he used to anyway - it's been a while. Must be busy, what with the upcoming apocalypse and all.)

Of course it would be the poster known as neodeity to come up with the answer.

Abraham Lincoln did. Historians have established he was a skeptic on religion.

Wishful thinking, Hush. FFS, this country went goofy over the idea of someone who may have possibly at one time worn a hat that is similar to what Muslims wear.

Neither the right nor the left will ever accept someone who doesn't believe in god. Eventually, we might elect someone who believes a bit differently; i.e. a Jew, but I am not counting on seeing that in my lifetime.

Yup, but it only applies if you believe in such things.
