View Full Version : Okay, so it's okay for McCain to have ambition, but not Obama?

The words of John McCain before a VFW group recently:
“Behind all of these claims and positions by Senator Obama lies the ambition to be president."
McCain's words in his book "Worth the Fighting For":
"I didn't decide to run for president to start a national crusade for the political reforms I believed in or to run a campaign as if it were some grand act of patriotism. In truth, I wanted to be president because it had become my ambition to be president. . . . In truth, I'd had the ambition for a long time."
Okay...so this teaches us what????

This is assuming Republicans give a crap what the Republican think.
Guys like Produce Man don't pay attention to Republicans. His identity revolves around being an anti-Democrat, not a conservative.
Therefore, he doesn't understand the idea that McCain could be guilty of anything other than running against the guy he's voting against.
Sure, McCain attacked Obama for, "ambition", then defined himself the same way. But it doesn't really matter to guys who vote Republican.
Notice how Republicans stopped being conservative years ago, and guys like Produce didn't blink? That's because he never really cared.
Laz? Same way. He claims he doesn't really know who he's voting for, but the trail of bad voting habits, combined with the fact that Laz never really defended his vote for Bush, tells me he will vote for McCain, then never mention it again once he leaves the booth.

Diplomat is a guy who suffers from low self-esteem.
I feel sorry for him.
That's why he can't answer questions about what he thinks. Instead, he's filled 16 thousand posts with whines, cries, and pouts about everyone he hates.
I go back to the post where Diplomat defined the source of his political identity:
Diplomat defines himself as good by defining other people down. CLASSIC case of low self-esteem.
That's why Diplomat always finds a Medialiner to, "go after" in his posts. He's defining others down so he can bump up his own self-worth.
It's not just Medialiners who Diplomat will define down so he can define himself up. As seen in his own post, he'll dog his own family members.
That's why Diplomat has his, "list".
Laz? Same way. He claims he doesn't really know who he's voting for, but the trail of bad voting habits, combined with the fact that Laz never really defended his vote for Bush, tells me he will vote for McCain, then never mention it again once he leaves the booth.
So I guess you're now defining me down. I'm sorry about your low self esteem.

It's the whole fake, "oh I don't know who I'll vote for" thing you pretend to deal with, Laz.
Your latest ruse comes after seven and a half years where you never came out and defended Bush.
Come to think of it, you never really defend yourself. Your posts, like Dip, Clever, and Produce's, always revolve around someone else.
And that inability to defend your actions, combined with the fact that you don't find yourself worthy enough to believe someone could value your opinion, is a clear indication of someone hiding the truth from others, and himself.

Lazlo's a good guy, man. :(
I've actually been able to have a halfway decent chit-chat with him about considering Barr instead of the media candidate guys. I don't know if he's won over yet, but at least he (as well as a few others I've talked with both online and off) are actually starting to take a look at him now. If he's truly predisposed, I'm thinkin' he wouldn't care too much about even looking in the direction of other candidates with, "I wonder if I like this person instead?"
I'm sure you mean well and all, Buckpasser but please leave Lazlo alone. :(
