Then, he was dragged across the sand before being lifted up into the air again and blown across the street where the wind slammed him into a building.Witnesses ran to help the man who lay crumpled on the ground in pain.He was taken to the hospital where he is in critical condition

Call me cruel and heartless, but I have no sympathy for dumb dare devils like this one. He's not discovering new territories or advancing mankind in way, shape, or form with his silly stunts. Except maybe for breaking new boundaries of stupidity...

I've collected all of the Darwin books. Another condition of eligibility is that, although the victim survived, there is no way that the person can further populate the gene pool.

I saw one report that mentioned Kearney's harness had an emergency release capability.
They speculated he didn't have time to use it.

Personally, I would have thought about employing it after the first mouthful of sand.
