I was just thinking of all the things that could come under this title. In film it can be anything from fundraising, to interfacing with actors, rewriting scripts, etc.

What does a co-executive producer do in the newsroom????

I wouldn't mind interfacing with a few actresses, if you know what I'm saying!

You're saying that you wouldn't mind interfacing with a few actresses. It's pretty cut and dry.

I haven ever, in my tv news career life, have heard of a co-executive producer.

For the sake of playing along with the really odd question that I would call fake but for the post count of Ms. Hell, executive producers do not fundraise.. nor do television stations... nor do EP's "interfance with actors."

Thankfully I'm mildly drunk or I'd think you got into my kidney stone pain pills.

Wow, you're pretty sharp for a guy who teaches Final Cut Pro to a bunch of juvenile delinquents.

In my experience, co-executive producers are the ones who actually RUN the show, while the executive producer -- who was hired simply because he was the college roommate of the news division's president -- sits in the control room and watches.

He or she, upon taking the oath of office, becomes THE executive producer should the EP die, resign or become incapacitated.

Well the co-executive producer deals with the "CO" issues. This is also known as the Colorado Executive Producer.

Judging by his recent request for rap songs, some might say he's "pretty fly for a white guy."

That's easy. His mama just hands the jar to the security guard.

In the one shop I worked where this has happened, it's been because the ND didn't have enough confidence in either in-house candidate to trust them completely on that job. It built a lot of resentment between the two and ended up with a mess in the newsroom.

If I were being a bit smarter tonight, I'd probably put something in there about being codependant... but who am I to say?
