Not sure if anyone here would be able to help me on this one or not....I live in South Carolina, near the half-way point between Columbia, SC and Augusta, GA.....I've noticed on analog tv for the past few months, there is a station coming in on channel 50...the picture is, I'd say, 50% snowy (enough to make out what's on the screen, but not exactly a watchable picture)---- the audio comes in perfectly clear....This station obviously airs all religious content (I believe a TBN--Trinity Broadcasting Network station)..

The picture seems to come in equally no matter which way I turn the yard antenna...I've researched tv stations in SC, GA and NC and the only "50" I can find is a FOX Station out of Raleigh, NC....I know this isn't a FOX station, so that one is out of the question...

There is a TBN 50 in Hendersonville, TN.....but considering it's a UHF station broadcasting at less than 5000kw----and being that it's approx 460 miles from me; I don't think that's the one...

I can't strike it anywhere on digital...Anyone happen to know where this station is from? I was amazed when I first picked it up thinking it was the one from Tennessee and that there was some kind of serious tropospheric ducting or something going on....but since it's worked constantly for several months; it's obviously not all that distant...As someone who's obsessed with DXing, it's naturally got me curious!

Don't they do top-of-the-hour legal ID's?

If they do, it's not in the audio...Perhaps they put a small logo or something on the screen, but if they do, I can't see it..I can barely make out the (what I assume is) TBN logo..Given that it's all religious content, it would make sense that it would be the network...I've never been able to see (or hear) anything that would identify it otherwise..it's picture is so fuzzy that you can't really read any text; but you can make out larger things (like people)

What cable company feeds your area? Could you be detecting "leakage" off their signal somewhere? Also, my local analogs (18, 27, 36) are "echoed" at a higher frequency (70+) and sometimes get picked up when you do a channel scan (but not in good quality).

There is a Channel 50 owned by Trinity Broadcast Company in Anderson, SC and also in Macon, GA. There is also one in Columbia, SC owned by National Minority TV (closely associated with TBN). They are all low power and would be programmed identically and would definately have no audio ID's as they take the straight TBN cable feed.

You're likely getting the Columbia one...

I found them by using the FCC's Television Query.... http://www.fcc.gov/mb/video/tvq.html

Maybe God is trying to speak to you through your TV. He's telling you to send money to Mighty Dyckerson Ministries.

Yeah, based on that, I'm thinking it's probably the Columbia one, too...I'm only about 15 miles line-of-sight from the western part of the Columbia city limits...I guess if it's on low power, it probably would be hard to get even that close to the tower (especially considering it's low power UHF).....I'm probably about 100 miles from the Anderson, SC station and probably 200 miles from the Macon station (rough guesstimate)

I'm just going to assume it's the Columbia one for right now unless I happen to find any evidence otherwise in the future..

Thanks!
