Lately I have been enjoying the early morning news through closed captioning. My one month old can eat, my husband can sleep, and I can get caught up on the news without making a sound.
This morning, I was caught offguard at the news story. It was regarding a missing child update. Apparently "psych incompetents" were being called to help with the search.

A school administrator got arrested here some years back for exposing himself and masturbating in public. You should've seen that on the closed captioning.

School administrators don't masturbate, there's too much paperwork involved.

That's because it takes so long for them to get their shirts untucked.
Bonus Second Quip Because it's Double Mock Thursday:
I thought school administrative paperwork was the masturbation.

Most local newscasts, the script is where the CC comes from. We've had a few scoldings at our station over it because some reporters tend to not write out whole soundbytes.
We only use a transcriptionist for storm stuff and major breaking news, i believe.

I can't complain too hard, though. One of my administrators, the most hated one on campus, really came through for me recently. Let's just see if she stays with me when people start complaining.
