Did anyone see the 4x100 freestyle relay last night? The French said they were going to blow the US out of the water but, in the most incredible comeback I've seen since Tony Romo against the Bills, the Americans get the gold. How awesome was that?

While it was an incredible comeback...what you compared it to isn't. It would be more like the Bills comeback against the Oilers in the playoffs.

I saw it, and WOW! I'm just glad I wasn't the sound guy on Michael Phelps!

You're right. The Cowboys comeback wasn't impressive at all. My bad. Stuff like that happens all the time.

we were on the edge of our seats, literally. I am now a little hoarse because of the yelling.

great race.

That race was awesome! I agree with the announcers who said it may be the best of all time.

Because it was so close, and FIVE TEAMS (if I remember right) broke the world record, it would have been awesome anyway. But the fact that the French swimmers were talking trash beforehand, and said they would "smash the Americans", just makes it that much better.

But hey, it's one of the few times I can remember when the French didn't surrender.

When you're a Cowpies fan, whose team hasn't won a significant playoff game in a decade, you take your 'incredible comebacks' where you can find them and celebrate them like they're just as meaningful as say, oh, winning four straight road playoff games and bringing the Super Bowl championship home to your wonderful fans.

...and bringing the Super Bowl championship home to your wonderful fans.

Even though their home games take place in a different state.

I wouldn't call anyone in that cess pool wonderful. Keep it up. The Giants are like France and the Cowboys are America's team. USA, USA, USA!

'Home' in the collective sense of bringing that championship into the loving embrace of Giants fans everywhere.

I was going to post the same thread this a.m.

That race was amazing!! I haven't seen the papers yet...but I am willing to guess that Phelps post race yell is the feature shot in most papers.

I got so revved up that it took me ages to get to sleep after that! What a finish -- it's stuff like this that make me love the Olympics.

Also, I adored the Korean swimmer taking the gold the other night in the same race from which he was disqualified in 2004 for falling into the water, and the Chinese swimmer winning China's first-ever swinning medal in front of the home crowd.

It's nice to see we beat those cheese-eating surrender monkeys!! Especially after all the cr@p they were talking. What a great comeback and the look on that French guy's face was PRICELESS!

I've been really proud of our Olympic team this year. I've watched most of the events, except men's gymnastics. I just can't watch those little troll things flipping around. I bet the women in China pass those guys and say "damn, those guys are short."

It was cool to see the Olympic men's b-ball team watching the women and watching J-Kidd check out some beach volleyball.

Who cares!?! That wasn't nearly as enjoyable as watching the Angels torch the Yanks for 7 runs without recording an out in the 8th innning on Saturday.
