So what do people do when they've been denied individual health insurance .. and can't find a job that provides a group policy?

You don't necessarily have to be employed to buy group health insurance.
For example, AARP has group plan... you of course are MUCH MUCH too young to be in AARP. But look around see if your church, your college alumni assoc. offer group health.

Maybe USF has a plan for student families. Perhaps your husband was in a union that might allow you to join.

It will cost you some coin... but if it's a group plan it should be less than buying individual health insurance.

If you have no luck... make an Appointment with Dr. Tripe at the All Over Body Treatment and Massage clinic. :moon:

You'll leave feeling like a million bucks!

It won't cost you a cent... but you will have to bring me a cold glass of milk

In some states, you can get insurance through the Farm Bureau. And no, you don't have to be a farmer.

I guess with a job ... insurance is a for sure thing ... no medical background check required. But trying to apply for a new individual policy .. I can't get past the "weight" question on the application - they can't say DENIED fast enough. It's very frustrating. I just wonder how much more weight I have to lose before I'm in an insurance acceptable range.

Enough so that you don't have to be weighed on a truck scale. Am I right people??!

A lot of places offer it now... among those I'm eligible for (since I just did this search a short time ago):

Professional organizations
Sam's Club (membership has its privileges)
College alumni organization
Recreational clubs
Fan clubs (at least, I was told some do have benefits)

Best thing is, ask.
