Why does the mgt at the Packers believe that Rogers gives them a better chance to win than Favre. And is anyone else tired of the drama??? Win with Favre or trade him, but for the love of GOD end the garbage!!!!!!!

Aaron Rogers has been training, practicing, working out, in preperation of being QB1 in Green Bay this fall.

Brett is 38 years old and he's been sittin' on his ass for the past 7 months until he decided to throw a few passes to some high school kids.

Fact is, as good as Brett is, at his age if you don't work year round to keep in shape and stay loose, you're gonna have a HELL of a time getting back into game shape.

I think it's entirely possible that Aaron and Brett could have a straight up competition, starting now, for the starting job and Brett would lose.

Brett started the whole problem with his "misretirement" in March. And the Pack aggravated it by not saying, "Great, welcome back... but you are NOT the default starting QB. We've been grooming Aaron and he's been working his ass off since you retired... if you want to come back you are gonna have to PROVE you can be the best quarterback on the team."

If they had done that in July when he first made comments about coming back, my guess is he'd have already shown us in camp that his 7 month layoff really hurt his game.

That said, Brett will always be on of my top 5 or 6 QB's in history and the Pack will always be a sentimental favorite.

Favre screwed the Pack in several different ways, from his numerous changes of heart to the p.r. blunders ... he also forced Green Bay to use two draft picks on QBs ... you think they would have done that if he had just stuck to his original choice to retire or his first flip-flop to un-retire back in March?

I admire the guy for what he accomplished, but last year he benefitted from a good schedule and the emergence of some young talent around him ... and he still had problems winning the big playoff game at home. (of course, my Giants were the bigger part of that ... he looked terrible against them in January).

Go away, Brett. I'm so damn sick of the coverage and the coverage about the coverage ... he's destroying his legacy the longer he conducts this three-ring circus.

The Packers have been put in a no-win situation.
I think the best option is to trade his butt and take ther chance he might do well this year.
Can't keep him on the team that is for sure.
If you can't get a trade just outright release him and end the drama.

And I am tired of people talking about how he is ruining his legacy.
It is his legacy isn't it?
If he wants to give us bad memories of the twilight of his career it is his prerogative.

I'm sure that Aaron Rodgers can throw an overtime interception in the playoffs just as well as Favre.

But if Favre is traded to Tampa Bay... may the Bucs then trade Jeff Garcia to Minnesota?

Ask TO if Garcia can make those bad tosses, too.

It's been a long tawdry deal. Unless you're a fan of the Jets, Skins, Panthers, yadda who would love to trade the picks for Favre's durability. Maybe even a Niner fan. Sigh....

Skins have Jason Campbell... poised for another good year.... Todd Collins, possibly the best QB2 in the NFL right now. And Colt Brennan a rookie yes... but a scoring machine in college who seems to have stepped it up a notch for the pros. QB right now is one position this Skins fan is not worried about.

You should be. That joker is a spare. He wouldn't make QB 3 for the beloved Dallas Cowboys of Dallas.

None of our quarterbacks could ever make it in Dallas... they don't drop the ball when holding for field goals!

In fairness, it helps to get the team into field goal range first. ;)

It's simple: Favre jerked around the Packers one too many times. You can't have a coherent offseason of planning, drafting, and making gameplans when you have a QB going back & forth between retirement and playing. Enough was finally enough and I say bravo to the Packers. Whether they'll be "better" on the field is way beyond the point now.

Now trade Favre to Tampa Bay and be done with it.

They're not holding for place kicks because their coach isn't an antiquated, stubborn idiot. You're QB's aren't orchestrating comebacks like last years Buffalo miracle, either.

I'll continue to talk smack, but the proof will be in the pudding, sir. I guarantee you the Cowboys will be the dominant team not only in the NFC East, but the whole freaking NFL. I'm not alone in that assumption, either.

Yahsure, that's the logical thought. But when have thing's gone logical with that smurf in the box? Snyder supposedly was the one who fueled the thought with his remarks.

Pay no attention to that little man in the owners box... I think he's finally got a few football people who ignore him when he tries to ***** up the team.

At least I hope so.

funny, I thought that was the whole idea.

and if Favre sucks so much, why'd they fight to stop him from going to Minnesota?
