Evan Bayh!
Here are the clues:
Clue 1: Evan Bayh is the only vice president contender whose public annnouncement address is on the Youtube Channel.
Clue 2: ObamaBayh08.com links you to the Democratic Party versus other sites.
Clue 3: This articles says that he will be in Indiana on Tuesday Evening/Wednesday.
From First Read on MSNBC
On the Veepwatch front, nothing's on Obama's schedule yet, but the traveling press registration e-mail has us flying to South Bend at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday and not leaving until 3:25 p.m. the next day.
It seems seems like an awfully long time to be in one place. (Where exactly is Evan Bayh?)
Bayh's home town is near Terre Haute, Ind. -- about four-hour drive from South Bend. But South Bend is a nice geographical point between Illinois and Ohio, and just south of the Michigan line.
Obama communications stretegist Robert Gibbs says all that should be taken from it is that "Indiana is competitive and winnable for us," he said.
FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) - Barack Obama's second visit to Indiana in less than a month could be monumental. Obama will make a stop in Elkhart on Wednesday.
Allen County Republican Party Chairman Steve Shine said that bloggers believe Obama's stop in Elkhart on Wednesday is to introduce Indiana Senator Evan Bayh as his running mate.
Obama has put a lot of money and effort into his Indiana campaign. Shine said it's rare for a candidate to visit a state twice before the convention and weeks before the real heat of the election.
Shine feels this announcement would put real pressure on the Republican party.
Barack Obama's presence in Indiana should not and must not be underestimated. If you take just that presence and couple it with naming Evan Bayh as the V.P. nominee, we have things to worry about.
Obama supporters gathered at Swinney Park in Fort Wayne on Sunday. The volunteers were discussed ways to help out the campaign during the next few months. Shine expects McCain to make another Indiana stop soon.
The Democratic National Convention starts August 25th and runs until August 28th. The Republican Convention is September 1st and it runs until September 4th.
Bottom Line....One thing I can say for sure maybe that Obama will announce his VP in his trip to the MidWest. I expect the announcement to be on Tuesday Evening. Who will it be? Evan Bayh!

Today....Obama advisors DID NOT indicate a VP announcement tommorrow. Although, there is still a possiblity of Obama announcing his VP tommorrow. We shall see but give it till tomorrow mornining. If Obama advisors doesnt say anything tommorrow morning, dont expect announcement this week. Also, dont expect next week to be VP announcement date since Obama is planning to stay in Hawaiii for a week in vacation. So that only leaves the week Aug 17-August 23. With the most likely date to be on August 19. If this is the case, that would be the longest time a presidential candidate made since Dan Quale.

I'm assuming you mean the longest time between securing the nomination and selecting the running mate.
In recent times, you're correct. But Ronald Reagan (in 1980), Jimmy Carter (in 1976), George McGovern (in 1972), Richard Nixon and Hubert Humphrey (both in 1968) announced their VP picks during the convention. I'm not sure when Gerald Ford announced that Bob Dole would be his running mate.

VEEPSTAKES....Senator Bayh, just told the Indy Star that Obama has no plans on announcing Bayh as his running mate during his stop today in Indiana. Bayh mentions the reason Obama has lengthy visit is because he wants to add another campaign stop. Given this case, and also Obama advisors not announcing this morning that he will make a decision tonight, it is unlikely that Obama will make his announcment this week! Best bet will be the week after his Hawaii trip or maybe even during the first day of the convention.

According to the NewsWeek, Obama advisors say that Obama will announce his Vice President on the week of Aug 17 which is when he returns from his 9 day trip from Hawaii.
That would mean Obama will tell his advisors on Sunday night that he will make an announcement on Tues. His advisors, then, on Monday morning, will make the announcement public, in which then will say that Obama is ready to announce his VP this Tues (Aug 17).

No, seriously. Harry Anderson is well known to a good number of Americans for his long tenure on Night Court. Plus, his post-Katrina experiences with Oswald's Speakeasy gives him a unique insight into what happened in 2005 and later, and might give a deeper scope to the Democratic ticket.

The evening line up of speakers has been announced as:
Former President Bill Clinton
Governor Bill Richardson of New Mexico
Senator Evan Bayh of Indiana
Senator Joseph Biden of Delaware
Senator Jay Rockefeller of West Virginia
Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid of Nevada
Senator Ken Salazar of Colorado
House Majority Whip James E. Clyburn of South Carolina
Congressman Patrick Murphy of Pennsylvania
Former Democratic Nominee for Congress Tammy Duckworth of Illinois
Im reading the tea leaves too much but typically the VP is third way down the list based on the 2004 DNC Convention Wed Speaker List. Which would mean EVAN Bayh or Joe Biden. I could be wrong but right now Bayh(Really hot seat) and Biden (Hot Seat).

Typically, the VP nominee does not speak at all until his/her acceptance speech. So I don't think it will be anyone on that list.
And I think we'll know early next week who it will be.

Does Hagel agree with Obama on things like health care, energy and taxes?
It DOES matter. Just that it matters that Joe Lieberman doesn't agree with John McCain on those issues, so I'm pretty sure McCain won't be selecting Lieberman as his running mate.
The VP nominee will be asked - repeatedly - to defend the nominee's views on ALL major issues. This bit Michael Dukakis in the ass in 1988 when Lloyd Bentsen had very different views than Dukakis on immigration.

Don't worry. If the republicans on the board are to be believed, he'll change his mind if the polls reflect poorly on his original choice.

FWIW......
From NBC/NJ's Mike Memoli
As Delaware Sen. Joe Biden left his home a few minutes ago, golf clubs in tow, he was asked where he was going to be on Saturday.
Biden replied, "Here" and pointed down to his driveway.
As he pulled out of the driveway in the driver's seat of his car he then said to the press gathered near his gate, "You guys have better things to do. I'm not the guy."
Could be a diversionary tactic. Or he doesn't want to be presumptious...Obama may not have even formally asked him yet.
Or he may be telling the truth.
We'll see.

Biden Prepares 50,000-Word Acceptance Speech
Senator to Address Convention on Wednesday, Thursday
http://www.borowitzreport.com/Uploads/03eecf18-48a9-45f2-8d29-e25d950247f5.jpg In an indication that he expects to be Barack Obama's vice-presidential pick, Sen. Joseph Biden (D-Del) has begun writing a 50,000-word acceptance speech, aides to the senator confirmed today.
The address, which Mr. Biden has been working on around the clock, is an abridged version of a 200,000-word acceptance speech that Mr. Biden wrote when he ran for President in 1988.
According to those familiar with the speech, if Mr. Biden is tapped as Mr. Obama's vice presidential choice the Delaware senator would begin delivering the speech on Wednesday night of the Democratic convention and conclude it on Thursday night.
Representatives of television news divisions said they were undecided as to how to cover the Biden speech, but none were willing to commit to covering the speech live in its entirety.
"We may wind up airing some of it on CNBC or maybe the USA Network, and then cut away to something else," said Carol Foyler on NBC News. "We're basically going to treat it like the hammer throw."
Mr. Biden, who was accused of plagiarizing a speech by a British politician when he ran for President in 1988, is unlikely to get caught doing that this time, according to one aide: "If there are some plagiarized bits in this speech, he'll stick them at the end after the audience has lost consciousness."
