Okay, so I turn on ESPN HD yesterday morning to find ESPN as launched a new HD ESPNEWS channel that was airing on ESPN.

The two idiot anchors kept going into great detail over & over again explaining everything on the screen. How dumb have we gotten if anchors have to explain that the scrolling ticker at the bottom of the screen displays scores? If people aren't smart enough to figure that out on their own, then telling these folks what the ticker does makes about as much sense as asking a blind person to finish a paint by numbers painting by shouting instructions to the seeing hearing impaired person.

Was this post just an excuse for you to use that analogy?

No, that awful analogy came to me as I was typing the last sentence. Goodness sake, if I made a post just to use that, someone should file a court order to keep me off the Internet.

I'm serious when I asked, "How dumb is the typical ESPNews viewer?"
ESPNews lowered the bar on Keep It Simple to a depth so low, caskets that have been buried for centuries look like pole-vault world record holders.

Luckily, that was the first time I ever watched ESPNews, so thankfully I do not fall into the ranks for their typical viewer. Nor will I be watching them again in the future.

If you think the "idiot" anchors are the ones who came up with the idea to overexplain the graphics, you don't know much about television.
