View Full Version : Idea I have to help reporters

Egbert Roscoe Murrow

I'm a producer in a medium market and have come up with a great way to get more involved in my reporters' stories. Each day I have them sum up their story in 3 words-- and try to hold it to them at the end of the day. It helps them stay more focused and simplified. Also, I usualy try to write at least one line every day and work it into the reporters' story.

Feel free to try it. I won't charge you anything! Ha ha

This is nothing new. It's not widely known, but Lorne Green invented what is known in broadcast circles as the "Three-Word Rule."

This bogus post is a riot.

I can't wait to read about ERM's idea to foster world peace. An email forward?

Lorne Greene also invented the three person standing pose, which would later be used by Charlie's Angels

Obviously Mock you've confused Lorne Greene with his lookalike cousin Lorne Green (no E on the end), who wrote several Monkees episodes and was known for his hat designs for some of Hollywood's leading starlets.

Tom Green?

Tom Green is going to be the Abe Vigoda of the future. Years from now people will ber asking "Hey is Tom Green still alive?"
Just for the record I checked, Abe Vigoda is still alive.

Too bad NPPA has been teaching that in their workshops for sometime now.
