I am a producer who is having a problem with my weather segment. The weather guy expects me to keep up with his time. During our weather segment I am usually dealing with other things (Breaking news, instructing anchors about the next stories.) I don't feel like I should have to give him weather cues. He's been in the buisness for almost 30 years. Doesn't he know how long 3 minutes is yet? Anyone have any advice you can give me on dealing with this problem? Thanks in advance.

Okay. With this coming so soon after the sports guy rant, it's now clear that this is a fake post.

You should have waited a few weeks if you wanted to catch people with it. You're no Super Sally.

Does he want cues every ten seconds? Other than that, there should be no reason why you can't do all that and give him cues. Be glad he wants to stick to his time, also!

Are you serious? How long have you worked as a producer? I think this is the perfect time to recall a saying from my days running an afterschool program in college. When you point the finger of blame at someone else there are 4 fingers pointing back at yourself. I don't know anyone besides yourself who feel the way you do...

I stand corrected. Maybe you are in the same league as Super Sally after all.

You mean I got baited by a fake post? Oh no. I shall begin therapy over the weekend.

Give the floor director or camera person an "egg timer" clock set to 3 minutes coming out the commercial and let THEM count him down. Next question!

That's it.
Egbert goes on ignore.
And that solves that problem.

Question... I have a producer who insists on giving me queues... This guy's got like, 30 days in the business and I just don't get it.

Should I be annoyed? Should I say something? Should I just take out my IFB? Thanks in advance.

Did you actually get bored behind a desk or are you really a reporter now (or shooting again)?

Queues? He's making you stand in line? Why would he do that?
