I worked for a station that was being purchased from Retlaw to Fisher back in 1999. I left right after the sale was done. All I remember, and all I heard from old co-workers was that if it can done without a human, it will get automated, if it has to be done by a human, give it to one in another station who can do the work for 5 stations in one room. Master control was the first to be assimilated.
If you aren't at KOMO in Seattle or KATU in Portland... run.

WalMart Nation pretty much nailed it on the head. KOMO is frequently referred to as the "Fisher Palace." Because of "The Palace" other stations are paying the price.
