At your radio or television station.....how many positions are currently being held by people that really do nothing? I can think of several "friend of the boss" spots where I work. Most are "special news project" folks who sit at a desk, surf the net, take two hour lunches, work 10 to 4, get paid a chunk of change, and make your day miserable by giving you a half-baked story to work on and then dropping it a day after you have done it.:frustrated:

Anyone with the name "Manager" in their title generally does nothing more than funnel requests from the top down to the peons and generally falls into this category. The good news is this is universal no matter what industry you work in. :)

I forgot the best part about being a manager: When all hell breaks loose it's YOUR fault.
Yeah - you really can't have your cake and eat it too. But the paychecks are nice I hear...

Nexstar has cut so much from our budget that we have only one of these types left...and he actually does a few things for us that work.

Now it's time for your Tuesday afternoon Nexstar Joke:
Q. Why did the Nexstar employee cross the road?
A. Anything to get away from that horrible place.
Thank you, we now join your regular thread, already in progress.

Wow.. Sigonfile.. I'd swear you were describing someone at my station! To a "T"
It's baffling... really baffling.. that person stifles everyone else from the assignment desk, to the producers and reporters..
