The Rooney Rule? I thought you could no longer just name a head coach without interviewing a minority candidate.
This is like 4 months late, but the Rooney Rule doesn't apply when you promote from within your staff. Believe me, every media outlet in town brought that up.
Much like how TV stations only promote from within nowdays since they can almost always pay a current employee less than if they had to come to terms with new employee from outside the company who would might have bargaining power.
