I would have to say the Pats will go undefeated at 19-0 and beat the Giants. Don't think the Giants can sustain the road momentum through the Super Bowl.

... or does Eli throw the ugliest, wobbliest passes in the NFL?

I'd like to see him get a Super Bowl ring, but don'tknow how he'll beat the Patriots.

I heard one player say a couple of weeks ago, speaking of his team's loss to Brady and Company: "We had two 85-yard drives and only punted once. And they still kicked our butts. That's how good they are."

The Patriots will win. But, I think the Giants will make it interesting. They've figured out how to get their running game together, Plaxico is playing well and if Toomer can stop dropping the easy passes, the Giants could give the Patriots some trouble.
I still can't believe they're in. It's proof again (Steelers 2 years ago) that you don't have to be the best team in the conference to get into the SB, you just have to play well when it counts. That's what the Giants did. And note to Green Bay's back up DB Bush (#24) - when the opposing team's punt returner fumbles with 2:00 left in a tie game - just fall on the ball.

that's the "sportscenter generation."

falling on the ball doesn't get you on sportscenter.
they'd rather try and "take it to the house."

doing the best thing for the team is a distant second for a lot of today's players, unfortunately.

I purchased five squares in a Super Bowl grid, but don't like my odds of covering.

If the Patriots lose, it wont be at the hands of the Eli...it will be the Giants defense giving Tom "My foot 'hurts'" Brady a long day.

I have the number 4 for the AFC and 1 for the NFC.
Pool pays out each time score changes.

I am hoping for a Pats 24-21 lead at some point.
Not great numbers... but at least I didn't get the 5 again this year.

I have a feeling Tom will be well-protected in the Super Bowl and here's why. Remember, in the Giants/NE game in week 17, NE sat two of their offensive starting linemen due to injury. Also, that game was played in NY, and it was LOUD. NE's O-linemen had trouble getting snap counts from Tom and hearing the center, who normally yells "Go" when he snaps the ball, signaling the rest of the line to begin blocking. Thus, the Giants D-line were getting AMAZING jumps off the line. That won't happen this game, where it will be much quieter. The D-line will get pressure, but not enough to really rattle Super Tom. And, as the Giants so aptly showed in week 17, they are HORRIBLE in downfield coverage. Give Tommy time, and he will carve that secondary apart...just like week 17.

As for Tom "My foot hurts" Brady, Tom hasn't made a big deal about his foot... the NY media has. Don't pin the "Woe is me, my foot hurts" on Tom. That came from the tabloid journalism in NY.

Have they announced whether the roof will be open or closed for this game? Anyone know how they make they call? Is it entirely based on weather?

Considering that there is a chance for rain on Sunday in Phoenix, I'd be surprised if the roof will be open on Sunday.

But it sure did rain on the Pats parade march to that perfect season.

One of the best played games I've ever seen!

Never, ever give up on the underdog.

Or not. Jrat, I was with you, I never thought it would turn out like this. I'm impressed by the Giants, I must say. I still think they're hot and cold, they just got hot at the right time.

I said it in another thread, and I'll say it now. They just manhandled us defensively. I got nothing but respect for the Giants D-line. I was 1000% wrong when it came to the Pats O-Line. Of course, I'm wrong more than I'm right.

Congrats to the Giants!

You were very close on that prediction. Eli was a big part.

That was one of the best, if not THE best, Super Bowl of all time.

I agree. We went through a period most of the (80s and 90s) where the game was over in the first half. Think of all the 49er, Cowboy and a couple of Redskin blowouts in Super Bowls. We've been pretty lucky in the last 8 or 9 years to have mostly close, exciting Super Bowls. The most recent Patriot Super Bowls were very good games, as was the Rams vs. Titans game. XLII wasn't the shootout that many expected, but when you look at what was at stake with the 19-0; and the fact that the Giants were massive underdogs, it's hard not to consider it the best Super Bowl ever.
