Forgive me if we've talked about this already, but what is that thing on the Patriots field? It looks like a record player arm shooting electricity. I don't get it? What does it have to do with the Patriots?

You must mean the logo on the field at Gillette Stadium.

I think it's a graphical representation of the tower built into the stadium.

Tom Brady scares the poop out of most people that play against him so enema's aren't necessary for teams that play against him.

The serious answer: It's a lighthouse. It's there to incorporate a little "New England" into the stadium's architecture.
