Keyeser's reply in the 'what time to do you wake up' thread got me wondering...

How many of you come to work in alternate clothing and dress when you get to work? I always came to work in my suit pants and dress shirt with tie and suitcoat on hanger...ready to go. My two co-workers dressed when they got in...my cheif usually wore work-casual clothes by the other guy wore jeans,. t-shirt..etc.

I guess when I was pressed for time in the mornings, I saw no need to waste more time getting dressed before work and having to deal with two sets of clothing.

I usually come completely dressed. Sometimes I have the tie on the hanger...

Also, If I'm on the deck that night... I have casual clothes on... which is sweet.

Usually have clothes on a hanger and don't put them on until 15 minutes before air. Of course my nudity prior to getting dressed puts several people off. Funny thing though, HR can't find anything in the policy manual about nudity equating to sexual harrassment.

In all seriousness, always come dressed. Knew a guy though that dressed casual and then put a suit or dress clothes on over the casuals. Always had that frumpiness about him when on air.

Dressed and ready to go with jacket on hanger.

I always held off on doing the tie since I liked to do my makeup with my shirt open to avoid any 'overspill' onto the tie and collar.

I usually come in with dress shirt and dress pants on. I keep an extra shirt, my suit coats, and my ties behind the set. Me and my morning anchor try to match a little, so it makes it easier to have everything there instead of trying to coordinate before the fact.I'm also a clumsy person, so having the extra clothes there helps if I spill something on myself. :p I also do my hair and makeup at the station about 15 minutes before we go on.

Dressed, with jacket and tie on hanger.

the same.

Dressed, with jacket and tie on hanger.

I have known other morning anchors who would come to work in sweats and wet hair, not really pre-read anything. They'd get ready at work and then go right on the air. Not sure I'd try to pull that off.

Most of the time I come in with suit pants, shirt and tie on with jacket on hanger. Sometimes I'll wait to tie the tie until I get to work.

To be a little more specific... I would have the pants on I wanted to wear but never the dress shirt, tie or jacket. Jackets were always at work in the "dressing room". I brought the tie with me. I didn't want the shirt to get wrinkled after setting a chair for a few hours...but the main reason was I tend to get very warm quickly. Even in a cooler studio I tend to get warm and uncomfortable quickly. I actually had to turn on studio lights to get lighting in there so the heat built up even quicker. If I had a tee shirt on I could wear under my dress shirt...I was comfy. If it got cold I could put on my coat. Just a comfort/personal issue factor. When I worked in GJT as chief. Simialr deal...had coats at work already. Brought my tie in. I would wear a polo ot short sleeved dress shirt and changed there. The computer wasn't in the studio but I was back near the edit bays so I got warm very quickly.

Completely dressed. No hanger. I'm the hanger.

Tie is tied ever since bathroom at my house, I feel like wearing it longer allows me to get used to it, instead of feeling all tight right before going on air, if that makes any sense.

I go with the fully dressed except suit jacket and tie on hanger. I don't put the tie until make up time 15 min before the show.

Fully dressed, tie still untied. I used to bring the jacket and tie on a hanger, but kept forgetting the hanger when it was time to come home.

Never dressed on the weekend shift - shorts in the summer and jeans in the winter.

Shirt and pants but no tie or jacket when coming in for the weekday shift.

I come to work with my tie and jacket and everything on... but I take the jacket off when I get to the weatherhole, unless its unusually cold in here.

I guess I'm a minority (albeit a WASP).

Always dressed, unless I have some type of lunch or something before hand that would be tough to swing in a suit. I would honestly feel a little bit uncomfortable if I never came dressed to go right on.

Unless we are expecting company, i'm usually in with jeans and a polo shirt. With a full set of suits in the other room, I can dress up within 2 minutes and me ready for air. Once in a while, I'll come in fully dressed and replace a suit that needs to come home for cleaning....

I use to get dressed at work, but then my boss told me I had to stop showing up to my work place in just my underwear and that I needed to get dressed at home :(

I come to work dressed in everything except the jacket. I built a "wardrobe" behind the set that I keep all my jackets hanging on. It's lots more convenient not to have to haul them back and forth between home and work.

I show up in a t-shirt and jeans (shorts if it's hot), and then I don't change at all. God, I love radio.

It depends...most days...dressed up tie and jacket on hangar ready to go.

If weather really crappy...then jeans and shirt, dress clothes in suit bag change at work.

Many days, especially in warmer weather will bring dress down clothes and change after shift.

Like Rdale, I dress comfortably for the weekend shift, changing into the suit before the show. If I'm working weekdays, I usually come in with suit already on.

I'm the weekend guy and do graphics and weather plus during the week... filling in during the week.

If I'm on my normal shift or filling in evenings, I'll come in in shorts/jeans/khaki pants and a t-shirt/button down striped shirt/polo shirt. I have a reserve of suit jackets in the back. I'll bring a shirt and tie on a hanger.

If I'm filling in mornings, I'll dress up a home. Someone said it already, but it's good to be ready in the morning because there's too much going on.

Arrive in shirt and pants...tie in hand.

I keep my suit jackets at work...don't want to mess them up carrying them in and out of the house and car.

Only problem with that is that a certain reporter kept wearing my suit jackets!!! I caught him red handed one time and left a nasty-gram telling him that he got it dirty...so he should pay to dry-clean it. He did.

I figured it was him...but needed to catch him in the act. First clue was when I came in and went to get my suit jacket and couldn't find it!!! I eventually did find it...draped across a chair in an edit bay.

This was the jacket from my fave suit too...a DKNY that was quite expensive.

I still keep my jackets at work despite the above problems...I made him feel 2" tall so he no longer uses my stuff. That and the threat of moderate to severe physical pain should he do it again.

Back in Lubbock, I would show up in flip-flops, cargo shorts and a t-shirt, carry the suit/shirt/tie/shoes/socks/belt and change into them later. Also carried gym clothes for Jiu Jitsu during the dinner break!

Now that I am on mornings... yep. WAY easier to just come completely dressed! I show up with the tie on too, because... well, I look GOOD!

I usually come to work dressed between 3-3:30 for our 5am show.

I am going to start taking my motorcycle every (dry) morning. I'm planning on suit pants, under chaps, and dress shirt under my jacket. The suit coats will have to stay at work. And if its too cold I may have to wear snow pants on the bike and fold my suitpants into the saddle bags.

I'm wondering if anyone else regularly drives a motorcycle to work?

When I was on weekends I'd be in jeans and polo shirt...mornings I come in fully dressed without the tie. Somedays though I wish I could work in my pjs.

extremely casual for those first few hours..always a polo and always jeans or shorts. Even flip flops in the summer. Why not?, especially in California. We are weather people after all.

In almost all cases I come to work dressed and ready to go. Seeing is that I have the weekends I could definitely get by coming to work in "street clothes" but it just makes more sense for me to change before work.
