Hey AMSers,

Did I see correctly that the conference starts on the 25th and goes through the 29th? Why did they do this for the middle of the week and into the weekend? That doesn't seem to make a whole lot of sense considering most folks need a good portion of a day to get there and a another good portion of a day to get back.

Didn't the broadcast convention always run like that? Doesn't sound odd to me, but it's been several years since I have been to one.

Hey AMSers,

Did I see correctly that the conference starts on the 25th and goes through the 29th? Why did they do this for the middle of the week and into the weekend? That doesn't seem to make a whole lot of sense considering most folks need a good portion of a day to get there and a another good portion of a day to get back.

Actually, there's a real good reason for doing this. After looking at all the hotels in Denver, this was the only time available unless we really wanted to pay through the nose. There were some inferior facilities that we could have gotten, but we thought that for the sake of making the conference the best we could, this time frame made sense. We also wanted to keep costs down as much as possible so registration fees wouldn't have to be too high.

Actually, the timing of the conference will work out fine for most travel arrangements. It ends mid-day on Sunday, which should allow everybody enough time to catch flights home.

It was a change from the way the last few have been scheduled, but the change wasn't made lightly.
