I believe that weather forecasting stone has been around since the Earth cooled.
And yes, you usually end up dodging a bunch of them at Christmastime.

that wyoming wind sock is just about right...I was driving through there yesterday and was assaulted time and time again from the wind....grrr

There is a small town in Kansas, cant remember which one but they have a LARGE weather rock set up in the center of town. I will see if I can find the pic of it.

Not sure about Kansas, but Lethbridge, AB has a fairly robust one. I think it's metric too... :D

I have several as well.. plus the forecasting "ropes," "balls," etc. (uh, I just realized that sounds kinky. Change of subject in 3, 2...)
Anyway, our weekend met (who has been in the business for 10+ years... meaning he should know better) brought one in about a month ago, thinking it was a hilarious new concept. I almost punched him.
