Sunday night, Desperate Housewives will have to survive a twister coming up Westeria Lane! Should be a good episode if that winds are high enough to blow some clothes off!

I wonder how many tornado misconceptions and bad rules they'll use, like "Open the windows!" and "Go to the southwest corner of the basement!"

Thanks Peter! For all, how many other "wives tales" have you used in your forecast, or have handed to you as informative? I'll start with this gem (from my days in the Great Plains),"if you can find a large desk or something heavy like a workbench, get under it NOW!!!" I mean, for crap's sake, if a windstorm came barrelling down on you, the first place you'd really want to be is under a lot of sharp instruments (sort of like the movie Twister).

Quick, everyone tape up your windows a tornado is coming!

That workbench bit mentioned earlier is actually in our National Weather Service warnings here in MO.

My favorite parts were the mailbox pulled 2ft clear out of the ground laying on the lawn well before the tornado, and the Twister-esque picket fence part.

With all of the computer graphics and special effects we can do these days...why can't more realisitic tornadoes be made for TV or movies? :bs:

Every time my wife sees one of these cheesy tornadoes on TV or the movies, the more she appreciates how they made the tornado in "The Wizard of Oz." Granted, it is one of her favorite movies, but still.

I laughed at the taping of the windows - and was pleased to see references to just being in the basement (instead of choosing a corner.)

I also correctly called that Victor would get impaled with a flying fence picket. Mrs. Vulcan hates watching with me sometimes.

My wife, who btw is a very sharp person, thought someone stabbed him with the picket, then I...without laughing, mentioned there was a tornado moving through....

Carlos is knocked out lying next to him, will he be blamed? What happened to the people in the house Lynette was screaming at? Tune in next week....

You may remember that the tornado episode was supposed to air two weeks ago, but was bumped back to this week. It is actually part one of a two part series, but the second part was not written before the writers strike.... so now it becomes a cliff hanger.

I think she was just reacting to seeing her house destroyed. Her family was safe in Mrs. McCluskey's basement.

No, it was her house that she and Mrs. McCluskey had run to after they got caught outside trying to catch the cat. It was Mrs. McCluskey's house, where her family was, that was destroyed and she was screaming about.

I'm guessing that, even though the house was flattened, everyone will live because they were in the basement. I can't see a show killing off an entire family.

From an online blog... I seem to recall that part 2 is actually in the can and it was going to kick off the next run of new episodes. However...since the strike has killed production...part 2 will not run until they get more episodes made.

I agree, but I bet the old lady who owned the cat won't survive.

Huh. I'll have to watch that part again. It would lead to a more interesting storyline of the Scavo family possibly having to house Mrs. McCluskey.

You know, if you put an "n" in the right place in this thread's title, it makes for a much different connotation...

Don't confuse Randy with extra letters. He's Canadian, and the next thing you know it will be Despeurate Houry Housewiuves.

Hehe, I bet! Well, I was just browsing through the thread titles we've had here lately and it struck me that the innuendo potential is fairly high:

The time now is 6:45 and I just got peed on.
