LaRussa pleads guilty rather.

WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. (AP) -- St. Louis Cardinals manager Tony La Russa pleaded guilty to driving under the influence Wednesday, eight months after police found him asleep inside his running sport utility vehicle at a stop light and smelling of alcohol.

La Russa said he had decided to plead guilty to the misdemeanor because it was in the best interest of all concerned.

... was, "Oh, no!"

My second, after opening it up, was,"Oh."

But I liked your quick clarification.

Because pleading stupid and drunk wasn't an option.

He basically pleaded guilty in the press the next day.

I wonder if idiot Cardinal fans will give him a standing ovation at the sentencing?

If that's a .09 I'd like to see the skipper on a good night!

He was much drunker than .09 when police found him asleep at the wheel of his SUV in the middle of an intersection. He was much drunker when he tried to perform field sobriety tests.

His blood alcohol level continued to drop throughout the early morning.

Try looking up the word extrapolation, and you'll see that the prosecution would be able to successfully prove that in the two hours (I think was 2 hours) between the time he was first observed sleeping in his SUV and the time he submitted to two BAC tests. The first read .093, the second .092, meaning that his BAC was decreasing, not increasing.

That's why the stumbling drunk on the video looks more drunk that .09. He was.

Wasn't Hack Wilson the original a stumbling drunk for most of his life?
Wonder how he'd have turned out with that lifestyle today????

"successfully proving" things were as easy as you make it sound.
